1%
that remain on the list. The Commission agreed to test the remaining 18 candidates, but the
passing score shall remain at 30. Safety Director Kasler and Chief Viola asked that the
commission lower the passing score for future tests in order to raise the passing rate to at least
70%. Chairman Cummings wondered if the passing score can be set at 70% will pass and the
remaining 30% will fail. Mrs. Kasler agreed to look into the legalities of this proposed change.
The commission agreed it would be inappropriate to make any changes that would alter the
passing score for this test as it was previously approved by the commission. It was noted funding
will be needed to give a second agility along with the secretarial examination. Chief Viola offered
funding out of his accounts, for the second agility, if the money can not be obtained by other
means. He asked that the second agility test be administered as soon as possible and requested
that any notification that requires a timely reply be sent certified. The commission agreed this is a
good idea as there would be a return receipt.
E. Cummings motioned to administer the agility test to the remaining 18 candidates that have
passed the written test. The passing score shall remain at 30 as it has already been announced.
The motion was seconded by S. Benjamin and unanimously approved.
X.
