C) The Ohio Fire Chiefs Association Inc. has been chosen for administering the Fire <br />Departments promotional tests. The written portion of the Chiefs test willbe given February 11, <br />1999, the Assessment will be done February 13, 1999. Three out of four Captains have indicated <br />they will be participating in the Chiefs test. Fire Chief Osterhouse has chosen the books that <br />should be studied to take the written portion of the exams for Chief, Asst. Chief, Captain, and <br />Lieutenants. The Commissioners will need to make a motion on the recommended reading <br />material. The commissioners will also need to set the passing scores for the Fire Department <br />promotional exams both the written and the agility. <br />Mr. Thomay indicated at the last meeting they were talking about making the oral assessment <br />longer than one hour. The secretary indicated to the commissioners Chief Lee from the Ohio <br />Fire Chiefs Association Inc., would make the oral assesment part of the exam two hours rather <br />than 1 hour and will not charge any more money since we will only be having 3 candidates rather <br />than 6. The books chosen by Chief Osterhouse will be given to the Ohio Fire Chiefs Association <br />and Chief Lee will incorporate material from these books in their test. Chief Osterhouse <br />submitted a suggested list of percentages for . the scoring of the exams for review by <br />commissioners. <br />E. Cummings motioned to accept the recommended reading material chosen by Chief <br />Osterhouse. Seconded by J. Thomay and unanimously approved. <br />E. Cummings motioned to accept the written score for the Fire Chiefs test be 30%, oral 70% and <br />two hour oral assessment; Assistant Fire Chiefs written will be 40%, oral 60%, two hour oral <br />assessment; Captains written test be 50%, oral 50%, one hour assessment. Lieutenants written <br />test will be 60%, oral 40% and one hour oral assessment. <br />V. NEW BUSINESS: No Items. <br />X ADJOURNMENT: J. Thomay motioned to adjourn the meeting, seconded by E.
