entry level test the same dates as other municipalities to help eliminate candidates learning
the testing companies tests and ranking high and then not passing the background tests.
Mr. Thomay also suggested surrounding municipalities giving a combined test and all
hiring from one list. The Clerk reviewed that she had spoken to the Rocky River Safety
Department and they expressed that they were going through their list fast. They have ran
into the same problems North Olmsted has and expressed they would be interested in
giving their written tests the same date as other municipalities to see if it wouldn't help.
J. Thomay motioned to give the clerk permission to set up a date and time for an agility
test with Saint Johns West Shore Hospital. P. Farrell seconded the motion and it was
unanimously approved. Motion Carried. Note: In the framing of the motion the Clerk
reviewed that because it was such a short notice that most of the school gyms were
booked and that would mean giving the test on a Sunday which would be more costly. As
the Police Department is expecting an opening in March some time it will warrant the cost
of giving the agility test on a Sunday at a high rate. It was reviewed the different Schools
that would be contacted, to see what was available. The Clerk questioned if the motion
that was made allowed her to set the date, draw up the P.O. needed and send out the
packets to the candidates. Mr. Thomay indicated "yes". No further comments were
made.
VI. ADJOURNMENT:
Chairman, Thomay adjourned the meeting at 7:30pm.
Chairman, John Thomay
Service Secretary, Donna Rote
