N <br />J. Thomay motioned to require Timothy Gates name to remain on the Certified Entry -Level Fire <br />Fighters list for North Olmsted. With the provision that he is to have an eye exam, every year to <br />show that he is a successful contact lens wearer as stipulated in the North Olmsted Civil Service <br />Handbook. The motion was seconded by L. Zolar and unanimously approved. <br />Mr. Riley, Mr. Gates attorney thanked the board for reviewing his client's case and rendering a <br />verdict in their favor. He suggested that the board would not regret their decision as his client (Mr. <br />Gates) will prove himself to be a fine addition to the North Olmsted Fire Department. He <br />questioned if all the records of further eye exams as well as the other documentation would become <br />part of the official record. Mr. Thomay indicated that all the documents would become part of Mr. <br />Gates official records. Mr. Riley indicated that his client would receive yearly exams as he usually <br />does. He questioned if the yearly exam could be completed at Mr. Gate's current Ophthalmologists <br />office. The clerk reviewed that the City of North Olmsted offers two options under eye coverage. <br />If Mr. Gates is hired it will be up to him to chose which plan he will use. Mr. Gates indicted that <br />they are thankful for the board members taking the time to review this case. <br />V. NEW BUSINESS: <br />Commissioners need to review testing material received by two testing companies for Building <br />Inspectors exams. <br />Mr. Thomay indicated that he did not receive a copy of the testing materials that the board needs to <br />review. The clerk reviewed that in the agreement to review the tests that she signed it stated that the <br />tests could not be copied for any reason. Mrs. Zolar questioned the different prices of the two <br />companies. The board reviewed the two companies price ranges. Mr. Thomay indicated that a <br />memo from Building Commissioner; Conway indicates that he is not too happy with either <br />companies tests. The clerk indicated that she was waiting for another company to send her their test <br />for review. CPS would be willing to write a test just for North Olmsted for an increased fee. Mr. <br />Thomay indicated that the board would wait to review additional testing companies Building <br />inspector tests and requested that the clerk contact other cities to see whom they have used to <br />administer their Building Inspector tests. <br />X ADJOURNMENT: <br />J. Thomay motioned to excuse the absence of Board member P. Farrell and adjourn the meeting. <br />The motion was seconded by L. Zolar and unanimously approved.
