The commissioners <br />agreed to call a special meeting and meet with Ramsey & Associates if they can meet the deadlines <br />and have them give the recommendations. <br />R. Giesser motioned to acquire the funds needed to administer the Fire Chief s examination. J. <br />Thomay seconded the motion, which was unanimously approved. Motion Carried. <br />The Commissioners instructed the secretary to invite Ramsey & Associates to a special meeting on <br />October 28, 2002 at 7:00 p.m. She was instructed to request that they provide the commission with <br />a recommendation on the weight of the scores, dates for the tests and have the list of recommended <br />books for the Safety Director. <br />V. NEW BUSINESS: <br />Commissioners need to make a motion to remove Robert Simon's name from the entry-level police <br />eligibility list as requested in his letter dated October 16, 2002. <br />Mr. Thomay reviewed that the Civil Service office received a written letter from Mr. Simon's <br />requesting his name be removed from the entry-level Police list. The Secretary indicated that it is <br />not uncommon for candidates to request their names be removed if they are hired somewhere else. <br />There was also discussion regarding candidates requesting their names be removed if they fail the <br />lie detector tests that are administered, for fear that the information will become public. <br />J. Thomay motioned to remove Police candidate Robert Simon's name from the entry-level Police <br />list as requested. R. Giesser seconded the motion, which was unanimously approved. Motion <br />Carried. <br />Commissioners need to review the estimated budget for 2003. <br />The Commissioners reviewed the estimated budget for the 2003 year and discussed the number of <br />expired lists the Commission has. Both Commissioners voiced that they were concerned that there <br />are no active lists for any Police Promotional positions, Correction Officers, Secretary II's, Fire <br />Entry -Level, Fire Promotional positions and Building Inspectors. If the hiring freeze is lifted next <br />year the Civil Service will have no lists for hiring. Mr. Thomay instructed the Secretary to adjust <br />the budget to have the funds to conduct all the tests needed to have valid lists for all positions. <br />VI.
