J. Thomay motioned to set the following dates; study book posting May 2, 2003, written test <br />June 9, 2003, oral assessment June 12, 2003, and move the regularly scheduled meeting in <br />June to Monday, June 23, 2003. R. Giesser seconded the motion, which was unanimously <br />approved. <br />D. Set the passing scores and weight percentages of each test. <br />Ms. Giesser suggested setting the passing score at an overall 70%. The 70% would be the <br />combination of both the written and oral tests equaling 70% or high to achieve a passing score. The <br />weight would be 50% written and 50% oral as suggested. <br />J Thomay motioned to set the passing score at 70%, which would be the combination of both <br />the written and oral scores. R. Giesser seconded the motion, which was unanimously <br />approved. <br />E. Motion on the suggested books/study materials for written exam. <br />Chief Klecan voiced that he brought books from the fire station that he would like to see used in <br />the test. He would like to see the Fire Chiefs handbook and the Essentials of the Fire Department <br />Customer Service book used. Ms. Giesser indicated that she would prefer that the discussion of the <br />books to be used take place after the meeting. As the study -books are not to be posted or released <br />until May 2, 2003 the discussion of the books should not be on record. <br />R. Giesser motioned to leave the decision of what books to use for the test up to the Safety Director <br />with in put from the Fire Chief and the testing company. J. Thomay seconded the motion, which <br />was unanimously approved. <br />4. Commissioners need to motion on the proposed legislation request. <br />Mr. Rote reviewed any contract of $2,000.00 or more must be approved through legislation. The <br />commission needs to motion for the Mayor to enter the contract with Ramsey & Associates and for <br />the legislation to be requested. The request needs to be on an emergency basis, as Council will be <br />going on vacation the month of July, and the commission only has 60 -days. Mr. Thomay <br />questioned if the clerk filled out the legislation request for the Mayor. Mrs. Rote indicated that she <br />filled out the legislative request for the Mayor to submit. <br />J. Thomay motioned the legislation request to allow the Mayor to enter the contract with <br />Ramsey & Associates to conduct the Assistant Fire Chief exam and that Council approves the <br />legislation on an emergency basis. R. Giesser seconded the motion, which was unanimously <br />approved. <br />VI. ADJOURNMENT: <br />J. Thomay motioned to adjourn the meeting. R.
