Inspector tests was completed. Discussion as to how many applied for the Building Inspector
position and the minimal turnover within the Building Department accrued.
Ms. Giesser withdrew her second to the motion to hire CPS Testing Company to administer
the Building Inspector exam. With the lack of a second, the motion fails for a lack of a second.
R. Giesser motions to reconsider the vote that was taken to give the Building Inspector
examination and instead continue the discussion to the next Civil Service meeting dated
October 22, 2003. J. Thomay seconded the motion, which was unanimously approved.
Ms. Giesser directed the secretary to contact CPS to find out if their tests are State specific or
general in nature and how often it is updated. Mr. Thomay directed the secretary to find out the
date and specifics of the last Building Inspectors exam that was conducted. The commission would
like to know which applicants had their Certification by October 22, 2003 meeting. Mr. Thomay
indicated that he was bothered by the fact that this City has been too lax in making personal
appointments and subverting the Civil Service Commission and it is about time it is stopped.
VI.
