CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION MEETING <br />MAYOR'S CONFERENCE ROOM <br />SEPTEMBER 209 2004 <br />MINUTES <br />I. ROLL CALL: <br />Chairwoman R. Giesser called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm. <br />PRESENT: Chairwoman R. Giesser; Board members M. Ubaldi and W. Hohmann. <br />ALSO PRESENT: Assistant Law Director B. O'Malley, Police Chief G. Ruple and Civil Service <br />Secretary D. Rote. <br />H. DISPOSITION OF MINUTES: <br />The Civil Service minutes dated September 13, 2004 have been submitted for approval. <br />R. Giesser moved to approve the Civil Service minutes dated September 13, 2004 as written. <br />M. Ubaldi seconded the motion which was unanimously approved. <br />HI. CORRESPONDENCE: <br />A copy of the legislative request to hire Personnel Selection Services was received and 85 test result <br />letters were sent out. <br />IFV. OLD BUSINESS: <br />A: Motions for Patrol Officer entry-level written examination <br />1. Establish date and time Patrol Officer Examination will be conducted. <br />The clerk advised that the one day all three locations had available was November 17, 2004. She <br />reviewed the prices of each location with the commissioners and indicated that all three locations <br />agreed to hold November 17, 2004 open for the commission until September 22, 2004. The <br />commission believed that the price, lighting, size and location of the church gym would be the best <br />location to administer the exam. The commiss-on advised the clerk that they would like to have the <br />test administered at 7:00 pm and to book"'the Saint Clarence gym from 6:00 pm. thru 11:00 pm., <br />Wednesday, November 15, 2004. <br />R. Giesser moved to administer the entry level Patrol Officer written examination on <br />Wednesday, November 17, 2004 @ 7:00 pm at the Saint Clarence gym, if date is satisfactory <br />for everyone, if not look at the next available date in November as being approved. W. <br />Hohmann seconded the motion which was unanimously approved. <br />2. Establish date to submit and run ads for Entry Level Patrol Officer Examination. <br />3. Establish deadline to file completed application packets <br />4. Establish date for Civil Service meeting to examine completed application packets. <br />The commission reviewed the proposed calendar the clerk submitted to follow for testing date, <br />times, location of test, application availability dates, filing deadlines, review dates, as well as ad <br />placement dates. The clerk advised the commission they would need to call a special meeting on <br />November 8, 2004 to review and accept or reject applications. <br />
