V.
V.I.
R. Giesser moved to approve the proposed calendar for the tests calling a special Civil Service
meeting for November 8, 2004 to review completed applications. M. Ubaldi seconded the
motion which was unanimously approved.
5. Establish Location and price of testing site.
Commissioners discussed wanting to hold the Patrol Officers exam someplace other than the Senior
Center. They do not believe that that the room is large enough to comfortably hold 200 applicants.
The clerk reviewed that she had asked Springvale Ballroom, North Olmsted High School and Saint
Clarence Church if they could seat 200 candidates with no more than 4 people at a table and all
could. The commissioners discussed the price, location and light of each location and felt that Saint
Clarence Church gym would be the best location to hold the test at.
R. Giesser moved to authorize the expenditure of $300.00 for the use of the Saint Clarence
gym for the entry level Patrol Officer Exam. M. Ubaldi seconded the motion which was
unanimously approved.
6. Establish Passing score for Police Office Examination.
Ms. Giesser reviewed that at the last meeting the testing company advised the commission that 70%
was their recommended passing score. The commission felt comfortable with the testing company
and wanted to go with their recommendation.
R. Giesser moved to set the passing score of the entry level Patrol Officer written examination
at 70%. M. Ubaldi seconded the motion which was unanimously approved.
7. Finalize wording for Patrol Officer ad
8. Finalize wording for Patrol Officer applications
The commissioners reviewed the proposed wording for the Patrol Officers entry level 'ad and
application packet. The commission reworded some sentences from the ad and added additional
information that would clarify some requirements. The proposed page nine was
removed and the application package was adjusted to require that the new page nine include a
notary public witness applicant's signature.
R.
