CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION MEETING <br />MAYOR'S CONFERENCE ROOM <br />NOVEMBER 89 2004 <br />MINUTES <br />I. ROLL CALL: <br />Chairwoman R. Giesser called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. <br />PRESENT: Chairwoman R. Giesser, Board members M. Ubaldi and W. Hohmann. <br />ALSO PRESENT: Assistant Law Director B. O'Malley and Clerk of Commissions D. Rote. <br />II. DISPOSITION OF MINUTES: <br />The Civil Service minutes dated October 18, 2004 have been submitted for approval. <br />Mr. Hohmann asked that the word commissions be changed to read (commission). <br />R. Giesser moved to approve the October 18, 2004,,Civil Service minutes as amended. W. <br />Hohmann seconded the motion which was unanimously approved. <br />III. CORRESPONDENCE: <br />There were (3) pieces of correspondences received and (3) correspondences were sent out by Civil <br />Service. <br />IV. OLD BUSINESS: <br />A: Review applications received for Entry -Level Police examination. <br />The clerk apologized for not having been able to review all 211 applications received but with <br />serving jury duty for a week and her other duties to the other Boards and Commissions she did not <br />have enough time to go through all of them. Therefore, the commission will need to go through the <br />70 remaining applications as well as address any applications which are questionable. The <br />Commissioners and Assistant Law Director assisted the clerk in reviewing the remaining <br />applications received. <br />R. Giesser moved to not accept Douglas Conard II applicant No. 9, Michelle Deptowicz <br />applicant No. 53, both for submitting cash and Craig Holmes applicant 84 for submitting a <br />personal check. W. Hohmann seconded the motion which was unanimously approved. <br />R. Giesser moved to not accept the applications of Justin Krugman and Vincent Amato for <br />not having application notarized. M. Ubaldi seconded the motion which was unanimously <br />approved. <br />R. Giesser moved to reject Robert Hendershot on the grounds that he exceeds the maximum <br />age requirement. W. Hohmann seconded the motion which was unanimously approved. <br />Mss. Giesser advised that the clerk will enter the candidates' information into the data base and sort <br />them by date time and those candidates' whose applications are after the 200th candidate in the data <br />base will not be accepted and will receive a full refund of their filing fee. <br />
