CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION MEETING <br />MAYOR'S CONFERENCE ROOM <br />MINUTES - NOVEMBER 21, 2005 <br />7:00 P.M. <br />I. ROLL CALL: Chairperson R. Giesser called the meeting to order at 7:10 p.m. <br />PRESENT: R. Giesser, M. Ubaldi, and W. Hohmann <br />ALSO PRESENT: Assistant Law Director B. O'Malley, Civil Service Secretary D. Eccleston <br />II. DISPOSITION OF MINUTES: <br />The Civil Service minutes dated October 17, 2005 and the Special Civil Service minutes dated <br />November 1, 2005 have been submitted for approval. <br />Mrs. Giesser inquired if anyone has any comments for the submitted minutes. Mr. Ubaldi indicated <br />his only comment is for the November 1, 2005 meeting, on page 4, "Mr. Ubaldi pointed out that <br />Chief Ruple indicated that a rule of five (5) candidates..." should read "Mr. Ubaldi pointed out that <br />Chief Ruple may have indicated..." <br />Mrs. Giesser made a motion to accept the minutes of October 17, 2005 as submitted and with <br />Mr. Ubaldi's correction, accept the minutes of November 1, 2005. Mr. Ubaldi seconded the <br />motion and unanimously passed. <br />i 61�K1]u 1► li1el_[K:Me-1;1WRT <br />There were 8 items of correspondence received and 2 items of correspondence sent out by the <br />Civil Service Commission. <br />A general discussion followed concerning the correspondence and is recorded in the Old Business <br />section. <br />IV. OLD BUSINESS: <br />OPAC Renewal <br />Mrs. Giesser inquired about the OPAC renewal. A general discussion followed concerning the <br />original purchase price ($4,295 for fifteen (15) licenses); IT believes testing was originally done at <br />North Olmsted High School; the City only needs five (5) licenses, there is no price difference due to <br />the original purchase; if renew later, the cost would be $2,500; Personnel administers two (2) <br />secretary test a year plus new hires and a bookkeeper test. <br />Mrs. Giesser made a motion to renew the OPAC plan ($859.00). Mr. Ubaldi seconded the <br />motion and unanimously passed. <br />
