I. <br />II. <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION MEETING <br />MAYOR'S CONFERENCE ROOM <br />MINUTES - FEBRUARY 27, 2006 <br />7:00 P.M. <br />ROLL CALL: Chairman M. Ubaldi called the meeting to order at 7:10 pm <br />PRESENT: M. Ubaldi, W. Hohmann, and K. Zolar <br />ALSO PRESENT: Assistant Law Director B. O'Malley, Civil Service Secretary D. Eccleston <br />DISPOSITION OF MINUTES: <br />The Civil Service minutes dated January 23, 2006 have been submitted for approval. <br />Mr. Ubaldi made a motion to accept the minutes as submitted. Mr. Hohmann seconded the <br />motion and unanimously approved. <br />COMMUNICATIONS: <br />There were 6 items of correspondence received and 4 items of correspondence sent out by the <br />Civil Service Commission. <br />Mr. Ubaldi indicated there was a brief discussion before the meeting concerning e-mails. Mr. <br />Ubaldi advised e-mails are pertinent to the Civil Service Commission and will append them when <br />necessary. <br />IV. OLD BUSINESS: <br />Mr. O'Malley's research on probationary periods of twelve (12). monthsfor other collective <br />bargaining agreements <br />Mr. O'Malley reported his research on probationary periods for other collective bargaining <br />agreements. A general discussion followed concerning the amended rule, Service and <br />Clerical/Technical has six (6) months, Police and Fire has eighteen (18) months, Fire has additional <br />eighteen (18) months for certifications, and Correction Officers and Dispatchers has twelve (12) <br />months. <br />Publishing the Civil Service Rules and Regulations Manual <br />The Civil Service Commission reviewed the highlighted text in the Civil Service manual. Changes <br />were made to Chapter 1, page iii, page vii, Section 3, d, Rule III, Rule IV, Appendix and signature <br />page. <br />Mr: Ubaldi made a motion to amend the Civil Service Rules and Regulations manual as <br />outlined. Mr. Hohmann seconded the motion and unanimously approved. <br />
