VI. 2006 Police Department Promotional ExamsBudget There was a general discussion concerning the budget, budget forms, appropriation request, budget committee, Finance Department, line item, current eligible lists, promotional exams for the Police Department in 2006, memo to all departments concerning the new year, using 2005 budget and increasing it by 10%, adding an entry-level firefighter's exam, State report and the Civil Service fiscal year. NEW BUSINESS: Remove Daniel Holstein's name from the Firefighters Entry-Level,Eligibility List Mr. O'Malley indicated per the request of the Safety Director, Tom Terbrack, Rule VII, Section 8, k (Disqualification and Notification), Daniel Holstein's name be removed from the Entry -Level Firefighters eligible list due to his age. The O.R.C.124.42 sets the age limit of 31 for original fire appointments. Mrs. Eccleston provided Mr. Holstein's application that states his birth date of January 9, 1975. Mr. Ubaldi made a motion to remove Daniel Holstein from the Firefighters Entry -Level Eligibility List pursuant to Rule VII, Section 8, k (Disqualification and Notice) which is pursuant to the O.R.C. 124.42 on account of the age limit. Mr. Hohmann seconded the motion and unanimously approved. Mr. Ubaldi made a motion to certify Kirt Strahinic to the Firefighters Entry -Level Eligibility List. Mr. Hohmann seconded the motion and unanimously approved. Mr. Ubaldi made a motion for William Hohmann to be elected to Vice Chairman to the Civil Service Commission. Ms. Zolar seconded the motion and unanimously approved. A general discussion followed concerning voluntary removal of a name, five (5) certified candidates, and the number of certifications allowed. ADJOURNMENT: Mr. Ubaldi made a motion to adjourn at 9:15 pm.
