CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION MEETING' <br />MAYOR'S CONFERENCE ROOM <br />MINUTES - NOVEMBER 20, 2006 <br />7:00 P.M. <br />I. ROLL CALL: Chairman M. Ubaldi called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. <br />PRESENT: M. Ubaldi, W. Hohmann, and K. Zolar <br />ALSO PRESENT: Police Chief W. Wozniak, Police Captain K. Whelan, Safety Director Thomas <br />Terbrack, Human Resources Director Cheryl Farver, Assistant Law Director B. O'Malley, Civil <br />Service Donna Eccleston <br />Mr. Ubaldi reviewed the results from the Promotional Police Captain's examination; the summary <br />is included in "New Business". <br />II. DISPOSITION OF MINUTES: <br />The Civil Service minutes dated October 16, 2006 have been submitted for approval. <br />Mr. Ubaldi made a motion to approve the minutes as submitted. Mr. Hohmann seconded the <br />motion and unanimously approved. <br />III. COMMUNICATIONS: <br />There were 11 items of correspondence received and 3 items of correspondence sent out by the <br />Civil Service Commission. <br />The Commission received two (2) voluntary and one (1) involuntary withdraws from the Police <br />Entry -Level Eligible list. Mr. Ubaldi suggested when notices are received for an involuntary <br />removal of a candidate's name from an eligible list, to notify the Commission as soon as possible; <br />therefore, a letter can be sent to the candidate and set for hearing at the following meeting. <br />Mr. Ubaldi made a motion to remove the names of Christopher Kopp and George Ruple from <br />the Police Entry -Level Eligible List. Mr. Hohmann seconded the motion and unanimously <br />approved. <br />Mr. Ubaldi made a motion to certify Brian Carney to the appointing authority along with a <br />copy of his application. Mr. Hohmann seconded the motion and unanimously approved. <br />The Law Department suggested sending a notice of hearing to Steven Yanke, a candidate on the <br />Police Entry -Level Eligible List and certifies another name to the appointing authority. <br />Mr. Ubaldi made a motion, contingent upon the removal of Steven Yanke, certifies Russell <br />Ringwall to the appointing authority along with a copy of his application. Mr. Hohmann <br />seconded the motion and unanimously approved. <br />
