Address and Close All Business Related to the Promotional Examination for Police Lieutenant Mr. Ubaldi indicated the written examination will be given on Saturday, December 30, 2006 and the oral assessment will be given on Saturday, January 13, 2007. There is enough time for the protest period after the day of the written examination. Pat Ramsey, Ramsey & Associates, had spoken with Police Chief Wozniak and a reference list has been established with four (4) references: Character and Cops Ethics in Policing; Developing the Leader Within You; North Olmsted Police Department Manual; City of North Olmsted and Fraternal Order of Police/Ohio Labor Council for the Officer and Patrolmen of the North Olmsted Police Department Contract Agreement. A question surfaced for the books availability and if the Commission needs to supply the source material. In the Civil Service handbook, Rule III, Section 1 reads "...Such source material shall be readily accessible to participants." The Commission does not have to supply the source material but should have the pertinent information for the candidates. The passing score for the written test is 70%. The "Letter of Intent" and cover letter will be the same as the Police Captain's letter with the amended text; the response date will be due one week after notification. The location can be arranged at the North Olmsted Public Library, the training room at Fire Station 41 or the Community Cabin. The written examination is 70% passing score and both the written and oral assessment is weighted at 50%. The candidates must pass the written examination in order to proceed with the oral assessment. Address Business Related to the Promotional Examination for Assistant Fire Chief The Assistant Fire Chief is tentatively planning to retire but no written acknowledgement has been received. An examination date, Saturday, January 27, 2006, has been tentatively set by the testing company. The last competitive testing included a written weight of 25% and an oral assessment weight of 75%. A suggestion was made to table this business until December's meeting. Review Query from OACP Mr. Ubaldi will respond to the query from OACP. VI.
