n <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED�� <br />CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION MEETING (fc;�` <br />MAYOR'S CONFERENCE ROOM — 2nd FLOOR <br />MINUTES — AUGUST 27, 2007 <br />7:00 P.M. <br />I. ROLL CALL: Chairman M. Ubaldi called the meeting to order at 6:59 p.m. <br />PRESENT: M. Ubaldi, W. Hohmann, and K. Zolar <br />ALSO PRESENT: Director of Human Resources C. Farver, Assistant Law Director B. O'Malley, <br />Civil Service Secretary D. Eccleston <br />II. DISPOSITION OF MINUTES: <br />The Civil Service minutes dated July 16, 2007 have been submitted for approval. <br />A general discussion commenced regarding Melissa Zurawski's decision not to attend the last <br />agility test due to her husband's two (2) week leave from Iraq. Her decision should be included in <br />the minutes. <br />Mr. Ubaldi made a motion to approve the minutes as amended. Mr. Hohmann seconded the <br />motion and unanimously approved. <br />III. COMMUNICATIONS: <br />There were 11 items of correspondence received and 9 items of correspondence sent out by the <br />Civil Service Commission. <br />A general discussion commenced regarding two (2) removals, three (3) certifications, and one (1) <br />change of address from the eligible lists. The Commission received a notice to remove Daniel <br />Franklin's name from the Entry -Level Police and Corrections Officer Eligible Lists. <br />Mr. Ubaldi made a motion to remove Daniel Franklin's name from the Entry -Level Police <br />and Corrections Officer Eligible Lists. Mr. Hohmann seconded the motion and unanimously <br />approved. <br />The Commission received a letter from Jeffrey Madej requesting his name be removed from the <br />Entry -Level Corrections Officer Eligible List. <br />Mr. Ubaldi made a motion to removed Jeffrey Madej's name from the Entry -Level <br />Corrections Officer Eligible List. Mr. Hohmann seconded the motion and unanimously <br />approved. <br />Mr. Ubaldi made a motion to certify and forward to the appointing authority information for <br />Peter Pajunas and James Goetz from the Corrections Officer Eligible List. Mr. Hohmann <br />seconded the motion and unanimously approved. <br />The Police Department has no outstanding vacancies; Fire Chief Klecan requested names for the <br />vacancy created by Todd Kirkpatrick. <br />Mr. Ubaldi made a motion to certify Giles Selig, Joseph Wantz, Daniel Root, Andrew Sasak, <br />and Eric Hack for the vacancy created by Todd Kirkpatrick. Mr. Hohmann seconded the <br />motion and unanimously approved. <br />
