VI. <br />the most interesting proposals and indicated that it is very common to have work done with contract <br />employees outside both for the engineering and inspections. Three (3) employees from the. <br />Engineering Department will be transferred to the Building Department. An inquiry was made <br />regarding the employees that will be transferred, that their work will be meaningful and that there is <br />not likely to be any abolition of their position based on lack of work. There is a great need of <br />improved property maintenance in the City of North Olmsted and is a desire of the Administration <br />and Council to put more emphasis on property maintenance. The transfer of these employees will <br />not result in any lay-offs. The salaries for the Engineer and Assistant Engineer along with some <br />other expenses should have a considerable amount in savings. <br />A general discussion commenced regarding classified positions abolished in the absence of a layoff, <br />transfer of employees; rules; Council has acted on issue; collective bargaining agreement addresses <br />only a temporary transfer of 30 days; transfer of employees will be implemented in March; rule on <br />issue subject to any objections that would occur by the next meeting; request an Order & Findings <br />to be drafted accordingly per the Commission review and adoption; notice of rationale from the <br />Service Director be published to the effective employees; the Commission is ratifying the order <br />much the same as the Commission did with Sandie Agresta. <br />Mr. Ubaldi made a motion that the Civil Service Commission stand notified of the <br />Administration's decision to effect the reorganization as outlined by the Director of the <br />Department of Public Service, Duane Limpert, that the Commission accepts the rationale and <br />direct the Law Department for the Order and Findings form as outlined by the Assistant Law <br />Director and to publish a copy of the Service Director's memo to the otherwise affected <br />employees. Mr. Hohmann seconded the motion and unanimously approved. <br />Removal of Kyle Gregg's Name from the Entry -Level Firefighters Eligible List <br />A general discussion commenced regarding the voluntary removal of Kyle Gregg's name from the <br />eligible list. <br />Mr. Ubaldi made a motion to remove the name of Kyle Gregg from the Entry -Level <br />Firefighter Eligible List. Mr. Hohmann seconded the motion and unanimously approved. <br />Mr. Ubaldi made a motion to certify Kevin Urban from the Entry -Level Firefighter Eligible <br />List and forward a copy of his application to the appointing authority. Mr. Hohmann <br />seconded the motion and unanimously approved. <br />ADJOURNMENT: Mr. Ubaldi made a motion to adjourn at 8:16 p.m. Mr. Hohmann <br />seconded the motion. <br />Michael Ubaldi.
