Mr. Ubaldi made a motion to start the process for the Entry -Level Examination for Operator <br />Class I examination as stated above. Mr. Barrett seconded the motion and unanimously <br />approved. <br />Promotional Road Foreman Examination <br />The Commission determined in 2008 that the Road Foreman position is competitive. The written <br />and oral assessment will be weighted at 50%/50% and will be held on the same day. The timeline <br />will consist of the following: mail letter of intent May 17'11; deadline May 2711; examination posting <br />May 31 "; and examination July 9t11 The candidates will take the written examination and the top <br />five (5) candidates that pass the written portion with a 70% or better will move on to the oral <br />assessment. A general discussion commenced regarding Laborer A's and B's; opening up to three <br />(3) to five (5) employees that were a Laborer A and has since transferred to a different division; <br />restrictions of eligible candidates; temporary appointment allowing to take the examination, The <br />Commission has no objection for past Laborer A's and the temporary appointment taking the <br />examination. <br />Mr. Ubaldi made a motion that the letter of intent be mailed to the candidates Laborer A <br />select employees made by the Administration {and classifying lower ranking employees in <br />Service having previously held Laborer A positions) and the temporary appointee. If two (2) <br />or more respond to the affirmative before May 27, 2011, the posting will be forwarded no <br />later than May 31, 2011 for the examination on Saturday, July 9, 2011. The examination will <br />consist of a written examination with a 70% passing score; the written and oral assessment <br />will be weighted at 50%150%; the top 5 scoring candidates of which will proceed to an oral <br />examination as listed above. Mr. Barrett seconded the motion and unanimously approved. <br />Promotional Police Captain Examination <br />A general discussion commenced regarding details for the Promotional Police Captain Examination. <br />This exam will be an oral examination entirely, letters of intent will be forwarded to the candidates <br />and if two (2) or more affirmatives are received, the Commission will proceed to post the test. <br />There will be a pre-test orientation and specific times for the oral assessment will be determined. <br />Chief Gallagher indicated that one of the candidates will be on vacation; therefore, the Commission <br />will give adequate time for all candidates. <br />Mr. Ubaldi made a motion that the Secretary on May 17th, 2011 sends the letter of intent to <br />eligible candidates who will be eligible on the date of the examination with a deadline of May <br />26, 2011. Upon receiving two (2) or more affirmative responses, the Secretary will send the <br />posting no later than May 27, 2011 for an examination date of June 29, 2011 which will <br />consists of an oral examination conducted by Ramsey & Associates and that all other <br />necessary functions including pre-test orientation be carried out via communication through <br />the Secretary, the Consultant and if necessary, the Chairman. Mr. Barrett seconded the <br />motion and unanimously approved. <br />VI. ADJOURNMENT: Mr. Ubaldi made a motion to adjourn at 7:55 PM.
