Chairman Barrett motioned, seconded by Commissioner Hayes, to accept the results as <br /> received by the testing agency and conditionally recommends the top candidate for further <br /> processing. Certification will be subject to the further review with the physical and <br /> psychological evaluations. <br /> Motion passed unanimously. <br /> Chairman Barrett motioned, seconded by Commissioner Hayes to accept the rankings of the <br /> eligible list provided to the Commission. <br /> Motion passed unanimously. <br /> Chairman Barrett thanked everyone who participated in the Promotional Fire Chief Examination <br /> process and for all the hard work involved. <br /> Agility Certification Deadline/Removal of Entry-Level Patrol Officers Candidates from Eligible <br /> List <br /> There were forty four (44) candidates that did not submit their agility certification. One of the <br /> candidates was removed from the list prior; therefore, 43 letters were sent out advising the <br /> candidates that their names will be removed from the list and the matter will be set for hearing. The <br /> deadline for the submission of agility certifications was May 1St and May 2"d the letters were <br /> dispersed. There are no candidates present. <br /> A general discussion commenced regarding agility certification. The application packet included <br /> information on the agility certification; the posting on the website included Tri-C dates; an <br /> announcement was made before the examination and handouts were available after the test; a <br /> passing score letter was forwarded to candidates advising them that they had 90 days to submit their <br /> agility certification to the Civil Service Commission. <br /> Twenty Five (25) candidates submitted their agility certification with their application packets. The <br /> certification is good for one (1) year and there was a$40 fee for the agility test and a$25 fee for the <br /> Entry-Level examination. <br /> Chairman Barrett moved, seconded by Commissioner Hayes, to remove candidates on the <br /> -Entry-Level Patrol Officer Eligible List that have not submitted.their.agility certification by <br /> the deadline of May 1, 2013. There were several notices regarding the agility certification <br /> including the posting, advertisement, handouts and formal letters that were distributed to the <br /> candidates. <br /> Motion passed unanimously. <br /> Certify Next Name on Entry-Level Patrol Officer Eligible List <br /> The Commission certified 7 names for 3 vacancies originally and now there are two (2)tentative <br /> offers of employment and one candidate has been disqualified; therefore 3 names can be forwarded <br /> to the appointing authority for the third vacancy. Police Captain Michael Kilbane is resigning and <br /> therefore will have an additional vacancy for patrol officer. The Safety Director would like to <br /> request seven (7) names per vacancy to have an expanded pool of candidates which would expedite <br /> the long process quicker. The Assistant Law Director recommends the Commission to take the <br /> Safety Director's request under advisement and also to consider the circumstance of multiple <br /> vacancies at a later date. <br />
