Chairman Barrett moved, seconded by Commissioner Rahm, to strike the 90 day period from <br />Rule II, Section S b and c, and replace it with the requirement that the applicant must have <br />the agility certification at the time of application for the Entry -Level Firefighter Examination. <br />Motion passed unanimously. <br />Chairman Barrett moved, seconded by Commissioner Rahm, to strike Rule V, Section 2 a and <br />b, regarding residency preference. <br />Motion passed unanimously. <br />A general discussion commenced regarding Rule II, Section 6, vision examination cost. The cost of <br />an examination as gone up over the years and the Commission will amend this rule to exclude the <br />dollar amount maximum. <br />Chairman Barrett moved, seconded by Commissioner Rahm, to remove the last two (2) <br />sentences of Rule II, Section 6 pertaining to the dollar amount of the vision examination. <br />Motion passed unanimously. <br />2014 Budget <br />Commissioner Hayes moved, seconded by Commissioner Rahm, that the 2014 Civil Service <br />Budget be approved as written. <br />Motion passed unanimously. <br />Entry -Level Patrol Officer Eligible List <br />The appointing authority hired James Kaminski on November 18, 2013. His replacement is Joseph <br />Ganelli and was certified during the meeting of November 25, 2013. The Commission had a <br />hearing on December 16, 2013 to remove Erik Joyce from the eligible list. His replacement is <br />Daniel Berman and his name was sent to the appointing authority on December 17th. Mr. Berman's <br />name will need to be certified. The Commission did receive a voluntary removal letter from Kevin <br />Rypka; therefore his replacement is Nicholas May and was certified at the December 16th meeting. <br />The Commission received another voluntary removal letter after the December's meeting from <br />Daniel Berman. Mr. Berman's replacement is Michael Dunn and his name was sent to the <br />appointing authority on January 2, 2014. Daniel Berman's name will need to be removed from the <br />eligible list and the Commission will need to certify Michael Dunn. The appointing authority hired <br />Joseph Ganelli on January 20th and his replacement is Hasim Welch -Bey. His name has been sent <br />to the appointing authority on January 20th and will need to be certified by the Commission. <br />Commissioner Hayes moved, seconded by Commissioner Rahm, to certify the names of Daniel <br />Berman, Michael Dunn and Hasim Welch -Bey to the Entry -Level Patrol Officer Eligible List. <br />Motion passed unanimously. <br />Chairman Barrett moved, seconded by Commissioner Rahm, to remove the name of Daniel <br />Berman from the Entry -Level Patrol Officer Eligible List due to his voluntary removal letter. <br />Motion passed unanimously. <br />Chairman Barrett moved, seconded by Commissioner Hayes, based on the previous two (2) <br />motions, the Commission accepts the amended Entry -Level Patrol Officer Eligible List. <br />Motion passed unanimously. <br />
