V. <br />VI. <br />i <br />phrase "anal upon achieving a passing score" is not necessary because you do not get on the eligible <br />list without a passing score. Further discussion commenced regarding the draft for Rule II. <br />Chairman Barrett moved, seconded by Commissioner Rahm, to accept the draft that has been <br />submitted for Rule II, Section 8a, 8b and 8c. <br />Motion passed unanimously. <br />Rule III, Promotions, Section 7d and 7e <br />General discussion commenced regarding different forms of evaluations and a suggestion was made <br />to table this discussion for another day. <br />Entry -Level Firefighter/Paramedic Examination <br />The Secretary reviewed the calendar for the examination and will coordinate with the Chairman to <br />have all information ready for the special meeting in March. General discussion commenced <br />regarding agility and paramedic certifications submitted prior to the test, maximum amount of <br />applicants, adequate amount of candidates on the eligible list, adequate space for applicants, and <br />prior Entry -Level Firefighter/Paramedic examination. Commissioner Hayes suggested 200 <br />applicants maximum and a $50 application fee. <br />Mr. O'Malley brought to the Commission's attention the age requirement for firefighters. The <br />Commission reviewed Rule II, Section 7c on 9/17/2012 regarding the ages of 18 to 31 and the latest <br />version in the State Statute was effective 9128/2012. The State changed the top age from 31 to 41. <br />General discussion commenced regarding age at entry-level, full pension age, agility test, and first <br />time firefighter. Chairman Barrett suggested leaving the age as is. <br />Commission Hayes moved, seconded by Commissioner Rahm, to set the testing fee for the <br />Entry -Level Firefighter/Paramedic Examination at $50.00. <br />Motion passed unanimously. <br />The passing score in the past has always been 70% and for the Entry -Level Patrol Officer exam the <br />other component was a pass/fail for the written and reading portion. General discussion <br />commenced regarding video test versus written test. The Commission liked the idea of a video test <br />because it was a little bit different approach than we had in the past. <br />Chairman Barrett moved, seconded by Commissioner Hayes, to make the passing score of <br />70% for the Entry -Level Firefighter/Paramedic Examination. <br />Motion passed unanimously. <br />NEW BUSINESS: <br />ADJOURNMENT: <br />Chairman Barrett moved, seconded by Commissioner Rahm, that the meeting be adjourned. <br />Motioned passe a animously.
