Motion passed unanimously.
Entry -Level Firefighter/Paramedic Applications
The Civil Service Commission reviewed nine (9) applications for the Entry -Level
Firefighter/Paramedic examination. There were six (6) applications with underage violations; they
were all approved. There were two (2) applicants that will have expired agility certifications by the
time of the test. The Commission advised for the secretary to contact the applicants by email to
inform them about their soon to be expired agility certifications. The Commission received an
applications with no agility certification on 3126114 and on 4118114 the applicant faxed his agility
certification in from Stark State College but is over the allotted time set by the Commission (4:42
and our rule states 4:30). The Commission advised the Secretary to contact the applicant by phone
to advise him of our rule. The last application reviewed, the applicant did not answer #8 which has
to do with criminal record. The Commission advised the Secretary to send the applicant a rejection
letter along with his certified check or money order. Also, the Secretary reviewed the Paramedic
certifications and some candidates have the FF2 certification listed on that certificate; therefore, the
applicant will be receiving one (1) extra credit point.
VI. ADJOURNMENT:
Chairman Barrett moved, seconded by Commissioner Rahm, that the meeting be adjourned.
Motioned passed unanimously. Meeting adjourned at 7:55 p.m.
Barrett, Civil
Chairman
Date
Donna Eccleston, Civil Service Secretary
