Motion passed unanimously. Entry -Level Secretary II Examination Secretary II positions are in the Building and Police Departments. Director C. Farver indicated that Sandie Agresta, Secretary Il, will be retiring the end of this month and another Secretary II has been ill for about a month. There will also be some retirements coming up within 2 years. Director C. Farver is requesting testing by utilizing the IPMA stock test; there is no need to utilize Poly -Tech because the Human Resources Department can proctor the test. Director C. Farver has requested testing material prototypes from IPMA and should be received by the end of the week. IPMA test modules cover the following; grammar, punctuation, vocabulary, spelling, basic filing, reasoning, oral and written instructions, forms completion, data proofing, document proofing, math reasoning and basic math. There is a $90 administration fee and $5.50 per module fee. The Commission does have money in their budget for pre-employment testing. Director C. Farver is asking for the Commission's approval to test and suggested a cap of 25 applications. There has been a job posting in the Plain Dealer for a Temporary hire and the annual salary is $28,500. We will use the same application process as Police and Fire. We do have one (1) position for immediate hire, one (1) might be coming soon and two (2) may retire later. Chairman Barrett's concern is with the 25 applicants and with the Police eligible list there have been a lot of removals and might run out of names. Director Farver mentioned those positions for Police and Fire Entry -Level positions are highly competitive. Commissioner Hayes said that the test for the Secretary II is inexpensive. Director Farver also mentioned to the Commission if they would consider an amendment to Rule IX, Section la and Section 2a, to eliminate the reasoning "sickness or disability" and make it generic. A general discussion commenced regarding language. Bryan suggested to strike "caused by sickness or disability." Chairman Barrett moved, seconded by Commissioner Rahm, to amend Rule IX, Section la and 2a by removing the language "caused by sickness or disability." Motion passed unanimously. Chairman Barrett moved, seconded by Commissioner Hayes, to authorize the Human Resources Director, Cheryl Farver, to proceed to set up the Entry -Level Secretary II examination. Motion passed unanimously. Entry -Level Patrol Officer Eligible List On April 7, 2014, the Commission received a voluntary removal letter from a candidate on the Entry -Level Patrol Officer Eligible List. Michael Dunn's name will be removed from the eligible list and the next name to be certified is Scan Ventrice. Chairman Barrett moved, seconded by Commissioner Hayes, to remove the name of Michael Dunn on the Entry -Level Patrol Officer Eligible List. Motion passed unanimously. Chairman Barrett moved, seconded by Commissioner Hayes, to certify the name of Sean Ventrice to the Entry -Level Patrol Officer Eligible List.
