CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION MEETING CITY COUNCIL CAUCUS ROOM MINUTES - AUGUST 21, 2017 7:00 P.M. I. ROLL CALL: Commissioner W. Brake called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. PRESENT: W. Brake, T. Smith and M. Kelly ALSO PRESENT: Human Resources Director M. Gallo, Asst. Law Director B. O'Malley, Safety Director D. Glauner and Civil Service Secretary S. Berkley II. DISPOSITION OF MINUTES: Motion by Commissioner Brake, seconded by Commissioner Smith, that the minutes of the June 19, 2017 meeting be approved as received. Vice Chairman Brake: yes; Commissioner Smith: yes; Commissioner Kelly: abstain. Motion passed 2-1. Motion by Commissioner Brake, seconded by Commissioner Smith, that the minutes of the July 10, 2017 meeting be approved as received. Vice Chairman Brake: yes; Commissioner Smith: yes; Commissioner Kelly: abstain. Motion passed 2-1. III. COMMUNICATIONS: There were 19 items of correspondence received and 63 items of correspondence sent out by the Civil Service Commission. IV. OLD BUSINESS: Promotional Police Sergeant Examination Exam Results/Certify List The Commission received the results from Personnel Selections Services for the Promotional Police Sergeant Examination. Commissioner Brake reviewed the results with the Commission and ranking #1 is Steve Dombek. The final scores include the efficiency and seniority extra credits. Motion by Commissioner Brake, seconded by Commissioner Smith, to accept the results and certify the Promotional Police Sergeant Examination Eligible List. Motion passed unanimously. Entry -Level Patrol Officer Eligible List The City of North Olmsted Police Department hired Jeffrey Richards and Samantha Troesch. Motion by Commissioner Smith, seconded by Commissioner Kelly, to remove the following names from the Entry -Level Patrol Officer Eligible List due to receiving a voluntary removal letter pursuant to Rule VII, Section 10: Justin Eakin and Maxwell Newman and to certify the names of
