Leah confirmed that members should plan to arrive at <br />Springvale at 5:OOpm to help set up the day of the event. Doors open to the public at 6:OOpm. <br />James will share the online event sheet so that members can view and add updates as they <br />happen prior to the event. Rack cards will also be created to share with attendees. <br />Yoaa in the Park 11" Saturdays March - September <br />Jackie said Circle of Life Yoga is confirmed to provide seven classes between March and <br />September for a rate of $80 per class and a total expenditure of $560 for the season. Sign up will <br />begin at 9:30am with the class running from 10:00am to 11:OOam. The Cabin will be available <br />for months that require an indoor venue. Members shared their enthusiasm for the event, noting <br />how it draws many attendees for a relatively low cost. Jackie suggested providing either event <br />rack cards or small merchandise to hand out to attendees to boost recognition of the Commission. <br />Kim suggested that a unique branding approach be used to publicize the multiple events. James <br />offered to create an event flyer highlighting each monthly class with a similar theme. Flyers will <br />be posted around the city at high -traffic areas. Leah moved to approve Circle of Life Yoga as the <br />instructor for 2019, seconded by Jackie, motion passed unanimously. <br />Mayor's Art Show I March 25 <br />Leah and James reviewed the event timeline and asked the group to plan on attending to better <br />represent.the Commission. Members should arrive at City Hall at 4:30pm to help set up the <br />nametag table, artwork and refreshments. The event begins at 6:OOpm and will feature a short <br />speech by Mayor Kennedy. Wilma will reach out to Polaris Pastry Arts to inquire about their <br />food offerings. James will confirm the time for members to help hang artwork on March 22"d <br />City Hall Art Gallery <br />James confirmed that he has spoken briefly with a local artist who is interested in exhibiting her <br />work February 8d' through March 22"d. Griselle Chock has been displaying her work since <br />November and will not extend her exhibit beyond February 8t'. Members were asked to think of <br />future gallery ideas for discussion at the next meeting. <br />Earth Fair I April 28 <br />Members were assigned roles within the event: Jackie and James will lead Site Layout, Janelle <br />and James will lead Animal Vendors, Leah and Jackie will lead Market Vendors, Stephanie and <br />Annie will lead Entertainers, James will lead Community Groups, Keith and Laura will lead <br />Music, James and Parks & Recreation will lead Outdoor Games, Sue will lead Crafts, Keith will <br />lead Volunteers, Sue and James will lead Advertising & Signage, and James will lead Recycling <br />and Rain Barrels. Sponsorship approaches were discussed, with Kim suggesting in-kind <br />donations and exhibitor fees as an alternative to monetary sponsorships. The idea for a bike path <br />event was raised, to be discussed further at the February meeting. <br />Janelle shared information about animal vendors and James agreed to send out an online poll to <br />decide on the vendor within the next week. Additional entertainment were proposed. Stephanie <br />will contact the Trash Talkers, Laura was volunteered to contact a bubble artist, Jackie will <br />explore the balloon artist, Janelle will contact the henna artist and Leah will contact the face <br />
