0174 PWIM <br />Annual Report - Board of Building Code Appeals - 1961 - Continued <br />Regular Meeting June 3, 1961: <br />Mr. Joe J. Javurek, chairman of a committee representing residents <br />of Revere and Pompton Drives; Joe Hoislbauer, builder and developer <br />of Beverly Hills Estates; and Clarence J. Oviatt, Law Director of <br />the City of North Olmsted, appeared before the Board regarding <br />various liens, against home owners, for improvements, on both <br />streets. Mr. Hoislbauer stated that he had paid for improvements, <br />and liens would be lifted. It was the determination of the Board <br />that this matter had been resolved satisfactorily, and no further <br />action would be taken by the Board. <br />Regular Meeting July 8, 1961: <br />Discussion ensued regarding The Architectural Board of Review. <br />It was recommended that immediate action be taken to institute <br />such a Board, and a committee be formed of five members to <br />approve or reject all plans submitted for commercial or multiple <br />dwellings. <br />Regular Meeting August 5, 1961: <br />Cancelled, due to vacation period. <br />Regular Meeting September 9, 1961: <br />Discussion ensued relative to use of Transite pipe for house sewer <br />connections. Alex Kanareff, City Engineer, approved the use of <br />Transite pipe on owners property. Open trench sewer connections <br />versus boring was discussed, and it was determined that the follow- <br />ing be added to the Dwelling House Code: <br />To: (B) 1593.96 - All excavating for building sewer or <br />drainage piping shall be open trench work. <br />To: 1593.82 - Basement water closets to be at least 5 ft. <br />and within 8 ft., of stack. <br />Regular Meeting October 7, 1961: <br />Denied permit to Mr. William A. Lash, 4399 Silverdale Road., to do <br />electrical work in the City of North Olmsted. The Board found <br />him in violation of Ordinance No. 2645 and No. 1515 of the <br />Regional Dwelling House Code. <br />Regular Meeting November 4, 1961: <br />Discussion ensued relative to Architectural Board of Review, and <br />a determination will be presented to the Council of the City of <br />North Olmsted for their approval. <br />Regular Meeting December 2, 1961: <br />Councilman, Dewey Limpert, appeared before the Board to advise the <br />progress regarding the establishment of an Architectural Board of <br />Review, and was advised that he will suggest to Council that an <br />Architectural Board be formed, with four (4) members, consisting <br />of one councilman, the Building Commissioner, and two appointees. <br />Review of 1961 proceedings, and the outlook for activities for 1962 was <br />discussed by members of the Board. <br />Respectively submitted, <br />James J.
