ANNUAL REPORT - BOARD OF BUILDING CODE APPEALS PAGE 3
North Olmsted, Ohio, for permission to build on a 50' lot at 5300
Whitehaven Ave., North Olmsted, Ohio.
September 28, 1978
Approved the request of Curtis Dunlap to build on a 40' lot. Lot is
located on 5790 South Porter Road and is permanent Parcel No. 235-13-85.
Approved the request of Donald Gates to build on a 40' lot, Permanent
Parcel No. 236-4-13 which is on Bailey Road and is one lot immediately
south of 4830 Bailey Road.
Mr. Gundy distributed booklets called "Uniform Solar Energy Code" to all
Board Members as well as copies of an Ordinance that Strongsville, Ohio
has adopted that covers concrete work.
Mr. Gundy then distributed literature on administration and guidelines
concerning standards for the Board of Appeals, registration of con-
tractors and duties of the Building Department.
Recommended that the Amendments discussed at the July 27, 1978 meeting
be made part of the Code approval.
October 12, 1978
Approved the request of Shore West Construction Company to move a house
from 24267 Gessner Road to PP#231-30-1, located immediately north of
4131 Walter Road, North Olmsted, Ohio.
October 26, 1978
An extension of time to complete a building at 5511 Wellesley Ave., from
October. 1, 1978 to May 1, 1978, was given to Mr. Austraw.
Representatives from Hennie Homes Building Company and Mr. Ken Dietrich
appeared before the Board. Discussion ensued as to whether or not the
Hennie Home that Mr. Dietrich purchased had the proper type of windows.
After much discussion and with advice from Assistant Law Director
Hessler it was determined that because of the wording of the paragraph
in the Code that describes "Thermal Brake" windows, Hennie Homes ap-
peared to meet the standard of the Code.
November 30, 1978
Discussion of Solar Energy was tabled.
Board accepted the Strongsville Concrete Ordinance which was endorsed
by several area building associations. Several changes were incor-
porated into the Ordinance. The Ordinance will be reviewed in June,
1979 for other possible changes.
