PAGE TWO
TRANSCRIPT OF PROCEEDINGS AT A PUBLIC HEARING.
City Hall, City of North Olmsted, Ohio, Wednesday, 2/21/68.
CASE OF MINNIE SCHMELLER: (Cont'd.)
MR. GUNDY: "That is strictly a decision of the North Olmsted
Fire Department. The Property Department could find out
whether it would be better to burn it, but it would be the
decision of the Fire Department."
MR. KENDALL: "The reason I ask that is when they consider
doing the burning, as I live on the property next to it,
that you are going to burn my hedge up, and with the West
wind it will ruin all that. So if you are goin§ to burn it
can they burn it so that it will be controlled.
MR. GUNDY:' "Yes"
MR. KENDALL: "Do you know how it will be demolished?"
MR. GUNDY: "No"
MR. GILBERT: "A few months ago I worked in the Illuminating
Building, and we demolished one of the Lorain stores just
recently, and the Fire Department allowed them to burn it
but they had to knock it down and burn it in small fires.
I believe if the Fire Department allows them to burn it
they will have to burn it by knocking it down first and
then burning".
MR. KENDALL: "I don't think anyone will have any complaint
if it is handled properly".
CHAIRMAN: "Who do they get the permit from?"
MR. GUNDY: "The Fire Chief; the ordinary thing to do is
contact the Fire Chief, if they decide to burn and request it".
MR. KENDALL: "We would like to know when they will burn it".
MR. GUNDY: "They may do it anytime".
MR. KENDALL: "If there is some kind of understanding with the
Fire Chief, or the Fire Chief's boss then we will be alright".
Who is the Fire Chief's boss?"
MR. GUNDY: "Mr. Limpert"
MR. KENDALL: "Then it might be a good thing to talk to him".
CHAIRMAN: "We can now consider this hearing closed".
CERTIFIED TO BE A
STATE OF OHIO
COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA
TRUE RECORD OF THE PROCEEDINGS AS ABOVE:
3 ss:
Emil J. D mchick, NOTARY PUBLIC
EMIL J. DE".1:,;t, NO ary public
For Cuyahoga County, ohio
