Discussed matters concerning finance and location alternatives <br />(Complex must be self sustaining) <br />Committee concensus is to proceed toward 260 location with an esti- <br />mated cost of $375,000 for 31.8 acres. <br />Mr. Koster is to develop Recreation Center cost alternatives - <br />possible facilities for 92,5003000, $2,600,000, and $2,700,000. <br />The committee, with Mr. Koster's promptness desires to complete its <br />function by April 1. <br />3/9/74 <br />Visited Brookpark $4,0002000 recreation center and toured facilities. <br />Committee and City Officials: Mrs. Saringer, Mrs. Sharpe, <br />Mr, Vests Mayor Christman, <br />(Gate receipts estimated at Mr. Geisser, Mr. Carnahan, <br />1/5 of revenue) Mr. Goggin, Mr. hilamosky. <br />Consisted of: Golf practice cage, pool, pingpong, dark room, woodworking <br />shop, craft rooms, football and baseball teams for boys <br />and girls, 8 tennis courts, basketball, weight lifting <br />and exercise rooms, sone, steam and whirlpool, swimming <br />pools, meeting rooms and community rooms. Ice skating <br />is included in phase two of the building program. Senior <br />Citizen involvement with bus pickup, game room. <br />Pitfall and improvement recommendations: <br />1. Include ice skating initially <br />2. Better lobby utilization <br />3. Include handball instead of craft & woodworking <br />4. Flat parking lot for ease of snow removal and <br />lawn maintenance. <br />5. Wood floor basketball court (no parquet floors) <br />6.
