CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ARTS COMMISSION <br />MINUTES OF FEBRUARY 20, 2019 <br />6:30PM <br />ROLL CALL <br />The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. in Council's Caucus Room. <br />Present: Sue Collander, Wilma Kepperley, Annie Kilbane, Stephanie Procter, Leah Rogalski- <br />Davis, Laura Simna Janelle Zauner <br />Absent: Keith Behrendt, Jackie Chavez -Anderson <br />Staff. Planner James Aspery <br />REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES <br />Annie moved to approve the Arts Commission minutes of January 16, 2019, seconded by Wilma, <br />motion passed unanimously. <br />UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br />Springvale Coffeehouse I February 21 <br />Leah reminded the group that event set up will begin in the Clubhouse at 5:00pm. Twelve <br />performers applied, which is a substantial increase from the last event in October. The first six <br />performers to apply were selected, but it was agreed that different selection criteria could be used <br />for future events. There will be one pastry tray and one meat and cheese tray from Fragapane's. <br />A new sound professional, Drew Maziasz, will work the PA system. Terry Groden has been <br />provided performer introductions and is excited to serve as host. James will bring all supplies. <br />Yoga in the Park I March 2 <br />Leah reminded the group that the first event of the year is coming up on Saturday, March 2nd and <br />will likely be in the Community Cabin or Senior Center Activity Room. The Facebook events <br />and Instagram posts have been gaining traction and are reaching a wide audience, so a large <br />turnout is expected. Check in begins at 9:30am and the class starts at 10:00am. James will be <br />there to set up the PA system. Leah asked about the idea for seed packets at this event. It was <br />agreed by all that this idea will be pursued for the April event. <br />Mayor's Art Show I March 25 <br />Wilma shared that while Polaris Pastry Arts is unable to contribute pastries due to a facility <br />remodel, Tom Becker from Becker's Donuts has agreed to donate pastries for the event. It was <br />agreed by all that the same food platters from last year will suffice. Wilma and James also shared <br />that the NOHS Art Department will be providing one decorative vase and two long -handled paint <br />brushes to act as sort of a centerpiece. Two art palettes and a bouquet of flowers are also being <br />purchased to add to the table decor. Sue agreed to paint the palettes before the event and take <br />pictures during the event. Leah reminded members to arrive at 4:30pm the day of the event to <br />help set up the nametag area on the first floor and the food area in the Caucus Room. Members <br />were also asked to help hang artwork at City Hall on Friday, March 22"d at 10:00am. <br />
