contest for student artwork highlighting environmental and safety concerns to be displayed on
the fence along the bike path. Leah asked James and city staff to look at the 2015 Master Plan to
identify potential areas that could be touched on in 2019. The Gateways Plan was mentioned as
the inspiration for the 2018 bike path cleanup. Laura expressed her interest to have an event be
interactive and participatory for all residents and suggested some sort of mobile chalkboard to
encourage people to share their thoughts on the community; the board would be moved around to
different events to collect different reactions from event attendees. James expressed concern over
the execution of this idea, as storage and transportation would present logistical difficulties for
the city.
Leah stated that a project or event should seek to highlight areas of the city that don't always
receive attention. Janelle will explore a potential partnership with North Olmsted City Schools as
they begin improvements behind the new football field. Laura suggested having residents
decorate individual tiles and having an artist compile them into some sort of design. Sue
suggested a traditional painted mural led by a local artist. Annie expressed her desire to create a
street beautification program similar to Westlake and Fairview Park, which led to the idea to
decorate an RTA bus stop. Leah asked the group to pick their favorite idea and form a basic plan
of action to present at the March meeting for discussion and potentially a vote.
Social Media Boosts
The group agreed on the following expenditures that would allocate funds to boost social media
events and posts throughout the year:
Yoga in the Park (7 classes, $10 per class): $70
Earth Fair: $30
Party in the Park: $50
Open Mic Night (fall 2019): $20
North Olmsted Noel: $20
Miscellaneous Boosts: $60
Total Expenditures: $250 drawn from the Other Supplies account.
ADJOURNMENT
With no further business, the meeting adjourned at 7:37 p.m.
L* Rog lski-Davis, Chair
Approved: 3/'L.O/ 1 q
James Aspery, Planner
