PLANNING & DESIGN COMMISSION <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />MINUTES OF JANUARY 23, 2019 <br />ROLL CALL <br />Mr. Malone called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm in Council Chambers and led the Pledge of <br />Allegiance. <br />Present: Greg Malone, Julie Nader, Darrick Matthews, Tom Patton, Dave Anderson, Don Rerko <br />(arrived after motion to excuse Mr. Schumann's absence) <br />Absent: Paul Schumann <br />Staff. Planning Director Kim Lieber, Assistant Law Director Bryan O'Malley, Administrative <br />Assistant Nicole Rambo -Ackerman <br />Mr. Malone moved, seconded by Ms. Nader, to excuse the absence of Mr. Schumann, <br />motion passed 5-0. <br />COMMISSION ORGANIZATION <br />Ms. Nader moved, seconded by Mr. Anderson, to elect Mr. Malone as chair for 2019, <br />motion passed 5-0, Mr. Malone abstained. <br />Mr. Malone moved, seconded by Mr. Rerko, to elect Ms. Nader vice chair for 2019, motion <br />passed 6-0. <br />Mr. Schumann was appointed to be the representative for the Landmarks Commission. <br />Mr. Matthews was appointed to be the representative for the Housing Council. <br />REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES <br />Mr. Malone moved, seconded by Mr. Anderson, to approve the Planning and Design <br />Commission minutes of December 12, 2018, motion passed 6-0. <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />19-13016; JoJo's Smokeless World; 24137 Lorain Road <br />Representatives: Doug Bercu, plaza owner, 1060 West State Road, Longwood, FL; Maan <br />Yousef, 24716 Antler Drive <br />Ms. Lieber stated that the proposal consists of a conditional use permit for a vape store and the <br />property is zoned B-1 Local Business. JoJo's Smokeless World is proposing to relocate from <br />their existing single -use building at 25021 Lorain Road east to the Bentley Coe Plaza. In the B-1 <br />District, smoking establishments are a conditional use and must meet specific conditional use <br />requirements as identified in Chapter 1118: <br />
