Mr. Mackey moved, seconded by Mr. Papotto, to approve the following variances for 19- <br />13061; Morris Cadillac; 27048 Lorain Road: <br />1. A use variance to permit sales of used automobiles; code only permits the sale of used <br />automobiles when accessory to the sale of new automobiles in the B-4 Mixed-use <br />Business District, applicant is proposing used automobile sales only; Table 1139.03-1. <br />2. A use variance to permit major vehicle repair; code does not permit major vehicle <br />repair in the B-4 Mixed-use Business District, applicant proposes a vehicle collision <br />repair facility; Table 1139.03-1. <br />Motion passed 4-0. <br />COMMUNICATIONS <br />Sign Code Update <br />Wendy Moeller of Compass Point Planning reviewed the sign code update project. She is a <br />community planning consultant and specializes in sign codes. She met with staff and the <br />advisory committee prior to the meeting and was scheduled to meet with local businesses, large <br />franchises, sign industry reps and residents the next day. The update will help address sign issues <br />and reduce the amount of work for staff and the board dealing with noncompliant signs. She will <br />prepare a sign code audit for review. Discussions have included window signs and drive through <br />signs.
