Mr. Morse moved, seconded by Mr. Dubowski, to accept the Butternut Ridge Historic <br />District Boundary Modification Report and set the public hearing for June 10th, motion <br />passed 6-0. <br />Design Guidelines <br />Ms. Lieber thanked Ms. Cardarelli, Ms. Egan -Reeves and Mr. Schumann for reviewing the <br />proposals for the design guideline update project. Four proposals were submitted and the selected <br />consultant was Naylor Wellman, LLC. They have experience in design guidelines and submitting <br />applications for national register properties and will help create a document that fits the needs of <br />the district well. The contract has been executed and the kickoff meeting is being scheduled. The <br />goal is to have the design guidelines by the end of the year. <br />2020 History Tour <br />Ms. Lieber asked the commission if they are still interested in organizing a history tour next year. <br />Mr. Morse thinks the tour needs to continue, hearing such positive reactions after the 2015 tour. <br />He thought if the tour is changed, a coherent vision needs to be determined. Mr. Neville believed <br />the committee would need to have more than three members due to the large scale of the event. <br />Mr. Neville pointed out that there was a lot of interest from other city groups. Mr. Schumann <br />suggested having a slideshow presentation at a Frostville event and having buses leave <br />afterwards so the public could learn about the locations prior to seeing them. Mr. Schumann <br />wanted the Frostville buildings opened during the event, Mr. Neville agreed. Mr. Morse <br />suggested getting public input about what they would like to see. Ms. Egan -Reeves suggested <br />using Eventbrite to have the public sign up for tour times. Mr. Morse suggested having two <br />different tours that could leave at the same time. Ms. Egan -Reeves suggested a general "North <br />Olmsted 101" tour and a more in-depth tour for people familiar with local history. Mr. Aspery <br />said the Ohio History Connection has grant funding that should be released in June and the <br />applications will be due in August or September. He said the previous tour could be used as a <br />basis for the funding application so the information can be ready since City Council approval <br />will be needed prior to submitting the application. Mr. Morse pointed out that there were many <br />incidental costs involved, including paying police officers to escort the bus. Ms. Lieber thought <br />the framework is good and suggested picking a date that would work for their partners also. <br />Discussion regarding best date for the event. Mr. Neville was going to reach out to Olmsted <br />Historical Society to start coordinating and getting their interest. Mr. Neville said bus unloading <br />and loading is time consuming. Mr. Neville, Mr. Morse and Ms. Egan -Reeves volunteered to be <br />on the planning committee. <br />Butternut Ridge Pocket Park <br />Ms. Lieber said City Council approved Ordinance 2019-56 accepting the land donation and will <br />be effective June 7th. The City Engineer should be submitting a proposal for the design soon. <br />Members of the Arts Commission will also be working on the planning committee. <br />Certificates of Appropriateness <br />Ms. Lieber wanted to add approved minor changes to the agendas going forward so the <br />commission is aware of what the chair is approving administratively. A minor change at 26872 <br />Butternut Ridge Road was approved on May 3, 2019. The owner is replacing the driveway apron <br />and sidewalk and adding a small parking pad on the side of the garage. The proposal complied <br />
