RECREATION COMMISSION <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />26000 LORAIN ROAD <br />MINUTES FOR MARCH 21, 2019 <br />7:00 P.M. <br />CALL TO ORDER <br />Mr. Scarl called the meeting to order at 7:03 at the Recreation Center Administrative <br />Offices and led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br />ROLL CALL <br />Present: Chris Scarl, Vera Brewer, Ed Garrity, Marty Clancy <br />Absent: Kim Rahm, Lou Brossard, Chris Wetmore, Assistant Commissioner <br />Staff Betsy Drenski, Commissioner <br />Visitor: None <br />RECREATION RENOVATION PLAN UPDATE: <br />On February 26, 2019, we presented to Council a packet of fact sheets for Ice Rink, Aquatics, <br />Adult & Youth, Baseball Fields, Parks, Fitness, Gymnastics and Finances. We outlined a <br />current snapshot of the facilities, programing for each area, what the needs are and a financial <br />picture of each area. Council then had an opportunity to ask questions and will review the <br />information further and a follow up meeting will be scheduled in the near future at the Recreation <br />Center. Recreation Commission members would like to be informed of the date and time so that <br />they may attend the next Council meeting regarding the plans. <br />FRIENDS OF RECREATION UPDATE: <br />The next meeting is April 11, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. We will also use this time to go on record as a <br />community input meeting for the park exercise equipment. The group is looking to get official <br />officers elected, adapt the bylaws and are putting together some fundraisers. They will be present <br />at the Eggstravaganza in hopes of attracting new members. One of the projects they are talking <br />about is getting donations for a trailer to put all the yard games, table and chairs in it so residents <br />can rent it for their personal events and make it easier for us to bring to City events. <br />
