EVENT UPDATES:
The Senior Open House will be April 3, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. There will
be approximately 15 vendors that are geared to seniors. The event helps us get the word
out that we accept Silver Sneakers and also increases our senior memberships. We will
offer tours to anyone interested and will have the Senior Casino Challenge raffles for
March and the grand prize raffle.
Our annual egg hunt Eggstravaganza will be April 20, 2019 at North Olmsted Park from
10:00 a.m. — 12:00 p.m. and will include bounce house, games, petting zoo, magic and
puppet entertainment, Easter Bunny visit, crafts, donuts and coffee.
This years "Great American Pastimes" Ice Show will be May 17, 18, 19, 2019 and will
include over 135 participants such as the North Olmsted Learn to Skate program, Cleveland
Ice Storm Synchronized Skating Teams, North Olmsted Hockey Club and local Figure Skaters.
PROGRAM UPDATES:
We are currently registering for Summer Camp that will begin on June 10, 2019 and will
run through August 16, 2019.
Baseball and Softball registration is going well.
We are in the process of organizing a Yd & 4th grade and 5th & 6th grade North Olmsted
Lacrosse team. We will be hosting the Westshore tournament at Barton Bradly this year.
The last couple of years we were looking into having an after school program for the
Middle School but we did not have a way to transport the children to the recreation center.
This year we purchased a school bus and are currently in the process of setting that up.
There would have to be a charge to help cover the transportation, supervision, a tutor and
a snack.
HOT STOVE DONATION:
Every year Hot Stove offers a donation in lieu of permit fees and the money goes into
the upkeep of the ballfields. This year their donation for the next two years is $3,467
and they want to construct dugout fencing on field #4. The Recreation Commission
voted and approved to accept the donation.
