LANDMARKS COMMISSION <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />MINUTES FOR MEETING OF OCTOBER 14, 2019 <br />ROLL CALL <br />Mr. Neville called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm in Council Chambers. <br />Present: David Neville, Tom Dubowski, Jim Morse, Kevin Kearney, Paul Schumann <br />Absent: Gretchen Schuler, Elizabeth Cardarelli, Sarah Egan -Reeves <br />Staff: Administrative Assistant Nicole Rambo -Ackerman <br />Mr. Schumann moved, seconded by Mr. Dubowski, to excuse the absences of Ms. Schuler, <br />Ms. Cardarelli and Ms. Egan -Reeves, motion passed 5-0. <br />REVIEW AND APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />Mr. Dubowski moved, seconded by Mr. Kearney, to approve the meeting minutes of <br />August 12, 2019, motion passed 5-0. <br />COMMUNICATIONS <br />Public Comment <br />James Bridges, 26902 Butternut Ridge Road, has owned the home since 1991. The home has a <br />Local Historic Recognition plaque since it was built in 1891. The home is 1,667 square feet and <br />they would like to build an addition with a family room on the lower level and master bedroom <br />on the upper floor. Mr. Neville pointed out that the Design Guidelines that the Commission has <br />been working on should be beneficial to him when planning the addition, a copy of the draft was <br />provided to Mr. Bridges. Discussion about design elements to keep in mind while planning, <br />including the roof line, siding materials and window shapes. The Heritage Home Program and <br />HELP loan program may be good resources for Mr. Bridges. <br />Butternut Ridee Cemetery <br />Ms. Rambo -Ackerman said some of the students and teachers from the middle school found <br />graves in the cemetery records that were occupied but the names could not be found. To honor <br />those people, the students wanted to have a marker installed. The Johns Carabelli Cemetery <br />Memorials company is donating the half ledger stone which will sit flush with the lawn. The <br />Service Department will install the foundation so it is ready for the stone. An unveiling <br />ceremony will be on Monday, November 18" at 3:30PM. <br />Mr. Schumann moved, seconded by Mr. Dubowski, to approve installation of the proposed <br />marker with design #4 for lots 38 and 63 in Butternut Ridge Cemetery, motion passed 5-0. <br />Historic District Boundary Update <br />Mr. Schumann stated that the map was unanimously approved by City Council and the changes <br />will go into effect on October 18th. The map will be updated online and Building Department <br />staff have been made aware of the changes. <br />
