CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ARTS COMMISSION <br />MINUTES OF OCTOBER 16, 2019 <br />ROLL CALL <br />The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. in Council's Caucus Room. <br />Present: Stephanie Procter, Sue Collander, Suzie Patton, Laura Simna, Janelle Zauner-Hoffart, <br />Wilma Kepperley, Jackie Chavez -Anderson, Annie Kilbane <br />Absent: Leah Rogalski-Davis, Keith Behrendt <br />Staff: Administrative Assistant Nicole Rambo -Ackerman <br />REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES <br />Jackie moved, seconded by Wilma, to approve the meeting minutes of August 21, 2019 and <br />September 18, 2019, motion passed 8-0. <br />REPORTS OF OFFICERS AND COMMITTEES <br />North Olmsted Noel <br />Leah confirmed with Nicole that Special Edition will be at the event and will bring their own PA <br />system. Annie reached out to Santa and Mrs. Claus today to confirm. Discussion regarding the <br />balloon bender- the least expensive person would not be available for the entire time therefore <br />the group decided to forego the balloon bender since there will be plenty of other activities, the <br />group did not want a vendor breaking down early and other providers are more expensive. <br />Crooked Kettle has submitted their vendor application and Pierogi Pantry and Sauced have <br />verbally agreed to do the event and should submit their applications soon. Vendor fees will be <br />donated to the Oxcart Pantry. Commission members would like to distribute the hot chocolate <br />and coffee as long as the drinks have been made already, Nicole will let Biggby Coffee know <br />that we should have enough for 300 cups of hot chocolate and 50 cups of coffee. The <br />commission will provide marshmallows and peppermint sticks for the hot chocolate. If Sue and <br />Stephanie are not needed for the hot chocolate station, they will help with the selfie station. Sue <br />is working on a backdrop for the selfie station and is looking into making or purchasing props. <br />A signage committee was created to help improve signage throughout the event in addition to a <br />map with an event program, Sue and Suzie volunteered to be on the committee. The commission <br />agreed that $75 for Ken Srail's photography is fair. Jackie will take care of the Senior Center <br />decorations and the holiday decorations along Lorain Road would need to be revised since the <br />water tower bus is not available until right before Noel. The gazebo will have garland, bows and <br />lights that the Service Department will install. Sue reached out to the Girl Scout troops but has <br />not heard back from any of them. She will find out what ages they are and help coordinate the <br />best activity for the kids to help with and provide a copy of the community group letter to them. <br />Stephanie will follow up with Beth Roshetko about Ascension Lutheran doing a table. NOCSEF <br />will have a putt -putt game at their table and would like to be in a corner to allow for more room. <br />The North Olmsted Junior Women's Club will provide an ornament activity. The Rec Center <br />will have a prize wheel at their table. Kiwanis will have kids make cards that will be sent to <br />veterans. Discussion about non-profit groups selling apparel since the Athletic Boosters were <br />
