LANDMARKS COMMISSION <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />MINUTES OF JANUARY 13, 2020 <br />ROLL CALL <br />Mr. Neville called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm in Council Chambers. <br />Present: David Neville, Elizabeth Cardarelli, Tom Dubowski, Jim Morse, Paul Schumann, James <br />Gearhart <br />Absent: Gretchen Schuler, Sarah Egan -Reeves <br />Staff: Planning and Community Development Director Kim Lieber, Planner Maria Levanoff, <br />Administrative Assistant Nicole Rambo -Ackerman <br />Mr. Dubowski moved, seconded by Ms. Cardarelli, to excuse the absences of Ms. Schuler <br />and Ms. Egan -Reeves, motion passed 6-0. <br />COMMISSION ORGANIZATION <br />Mr. Schumann moved, seconded by Mr. Gearhart, to appoint Mr. Neville as Chair and Mr. <br />Morse as Vice Chair for 2020, motion passed 6-0. <br />REVIEW AND APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />Mr. Schumann moved, seconded by Mr. Dubowski, to approve the Landmarks <br />Commission minutes of November 11, 2019, motion passed 6-0. <br />COMMUNICATIONS <br />Historic District Updates <br />A bound copy of the Design Guidelines was given to each Commission member. Members <br />discussed how to let the Historic District property owners and residents know about the updated <br />map and guidelines. A direct mailing would work best since there is a limited amount of people <br />who need to know how and when to access the information. The resources are available on the <br />city's website and homeowners could print them if they would like to. Mr. Morse would like to <br />send a postcard because non -owner occupants could see the requirements even if it is addressed <br />to the owners. Mr. Schumann wanted to make sure directions to the information on the website <br />are included and Mr. Morse suggested using a QR code to link directly to the Landmarks <br />Commission's page. Info about the updated map, Design Guidelines, importance of the district, <br />purpose of the Commission and information about the Heritage Home Program should be <br />included. Ms. Lieber would like to send the mailing out during the first quarter but will get input <br />after a draft is ready. <br />North Olmsted Journey <br />Pioneer Days in the Valley was the original name for the event to be hosted by the Landmarks <br />Commission and Olmsted Historical Society in 2020. At the last planning committee meeting, <br />the name was changed to North Olmsted Journey: Experience Our History because of the broad <br />
