CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ARTS COMMISSION <br />MINUTES OF JANUARY 15, 2020 <br />ROLL CALL <br />The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. in Council's Caucus Room. <br />Present: Stephanie Procter, Sue Collander, Suzie Patton, Janelle Zauner-Hoffart, Wilma <br />Kepperley, Jackie Chavez -Anderson, Leah Rogalski-Davis, Keith Behrendt <br />Absent: Laura Simna <br />Staff: Planning Director Kim Lieber, Administrative Assistant Nicole Rambo -Ackerman <br />COMMISSION ORGANIZATION <br />Leah moved, seconded by Wilma, to nominate Sue for Chair and Keith for Vice Chair, <br />motion passed 8-0. <br />Suzie anhounced that she will be leaving the Commission to join the Building & Zoning Board <br />of Appeals. Wilma, Leah and Jackie volunteered to be on the Earth Fair committee. Keith, <br />Janelle, Stephanie, Leah and Laura volunteered to be on the Party in the Park committee. Keith, <br />Stephanie and Jackie volunteered to be on the Veterans Art Gallery committee. <br />REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES <br />Jackie moved, seconded by Keith, to approve the Arts Commission minutes of December <br />18, 2019, motion passed 8-0. <br />REPORTS OF OFFICERS AND COMMITTEES <br />Yoza+ <br />Leah said almost 50 people attended the first Yoga+ event. The VIP text that was supposed to go <br />out did not go out in time for the event which may have hindered attendance. Going forward, the <br />citywide texts should go out before the events. The presentation went a little longer than the <br />attendees seemed to be interested in. Nicole suggested having a handout or visual and having a <br />more formal introduction may be helpful for future presentations. Jackie agreed and plans to <br />have a handout for her presentation. Jackie loved having the guitar player at the event and <br />thought the sound levels worked well without any microphones. The door prizes worked out well <br />too. The Thai massage vendor was interested in coming to the next Yoga+ events but Leah <br />thought that charging for samples may have turned some people away. The March presentation <br />will be done by Perfectly Imperfect and they will provide free samples too. Discussion regarding <br />summer yoga events and the competition from other events. Leah thought there was enough <br />interest that it may be worth continuing during the summer. <br />Mayor's Art Show <br />The Service Department has been working hard on repairing and repainting Old Town Hall for <br />the event. A white backdrop with twinkling lights will be rented for the stage backdrop. <br />Streetscape banners were installed in front of Old Town Hall and the front lights will be fixed to <br />
