to allow safer passage for bicyclists and improve the roadside edge and drainage while limiting
the impact to the historical character of the district. Staff is working to identify a location for an
equalization tank that would carry overflow sanitary during storm events. This should help ease
the situation for Bretton Ridge and Park Ridge on the west end of town. The Mayor also wants to
find a location for a stormwater basin after the equalization tank location is determined. Mr.
Olivos would like to see the landscaping requirements improved. Once projects are completed.
the landscaping seems to decline and disappear after a few years and he would like the code to
have more maintenance requirements. There may still be an opportunity to include
educational information at the entrance of the park. The Mayor's next priority for the parks is to
determine a better ballfield configuration but the pandemic has pushed that back. Ms. Nader
would like to see improved bicycle facilities because she thought it could draw a wide range of
visitors to the city. Ms. Lieber thought a consultant could best determine a layout and network to
meet the city's goals.
