Mr. Ration asked if the board were to approve the variance request how would thec account for
the additional square feet for a bedroom that was not included on the initial application' Mr.
O'Malley responded that in the motion the board could add a subject to condition of the
applicant submitting calculations of additional square feet and setbacks. I le also stated that the
board cannot blindly approve setbacks and square footage.
Mr. Papotto expressed that he understood the applicants desire to convert the structure for a
living space as well as the time tame and cost of construction. However. his concerns were i F
the applicants would sell their home and new home owners would utilize that space in a different
way. Ms. Patton agreed with Mr. Papotto with anv future sales of the property as well as the
history of property
the board discussed the initial request and how the additional square feet for the structure was
not included on the initial application.
Mr. Rahm moved, seconded by Ms. Patton, to approve the following variance for 22-21491;
Kosta and Abigail Ashmidis; 4069 Clague Rd:
A variance for a second dwelling on a parcel zoned One Family Residence; code
does not allow, Section I135.01(A)(1).
Motion Denied 0-4.
22-21643; Jon Vulle; 4632 Dover Center Rd.
Representative: John Volle, owner
Proposal consists of an Animal Shelter-Chicken Coop. Property is zoned A-One Family
Residence.
The followings variances are requested:
1. A 144 sq. variance for an animal shelter, code permits 50 sq., applicant shows 194 sq. ft._
Section 1135.02 (F)(4)(a).
2. A 4 ft. variance for height of animal shelter, code permits 6 ft. applicant shows 10 ft.,
Section 1135.02 (G)(4)(a).
Note: New shed converted to chicken coop: 10 ft_x 14 ft. x 10 ft. high. Fenced arca between
existing shed and converted shed/chicken coop: 10 ft. x 6 R x 6 ft. high.
Mr. Volle explained that he is seeking a variance for his chicken coop and the size of the chicken
coop. He also stated that his lot is over one and a half acres.
The Building Department and I%conomic and Community Development had no additional
comments and there was minimal discussion concerning the variance.
Mr. Papotto asked Ms. Seeley how the calculation for the variance was calculated. Ms. Seeley
stated that the 10 x 14 shed is for the new chicken coop. Most of the area is for the chickens and
the other half is being used for chicken items. Between, the two sheds is where the chicken nm
is located. Therefore. the variance is for the second shed (10 x 14) to be converted into a chicken
coop and for the run area since code only allows 50 square feet. there was an initial concern
