w <br />BUILDING & ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />MEETING MINUTES FOR MAY 1, 2023 <br />ROLL CALL <br />Mr. Papotto called the meeting to order at 7:02 p.m. in Council Chambers. <br />Present: Bob Papotto, Ralph Mackey, Dan Rahm, Suzie Patton, Michael Kovach <br />Staff. Law Director Michael Gareau, Jr., Director Upton, Building Coordinator Katie Seeley, <br />Administrative Assistant Lyn Wilson <br />REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES <br />The Building & Zoning Board of Appeals minutes of December 5, 2022 moved to approve as <br />written by Mr. Mackey seconded by Mr. Kovach; the minutes of January 9, 2023 moved to <br />approve as written by Mr. Mackey, seconded by Ms. Patton; and minutes of April 3, 2023 moved <br />to approve as written by Mr. Mackey, seconded by Ms. Patton. <br />Motions Passed <br />RESIDENTIAL APPEALS AND REQUESTS <br />23-23932; Norman Marek -5233 Berkshire Drive <br />Proposal of a 10'x16' shed on property. Property is zoned B -One Family Residence. <br />The following variance is requested: <br />A 10 sq. ft. variance for the size of a storage building based on the lot size; code allows <br />up to 150 sq. ft., applicant shows 160 sq. ft., Section 1135.02(C)(2). <br />Proposed Storage Building: 10 ft. x 16 ft. x 10 ft. High <br />Note: Lot is 14,476 <br />Representative: Norman Marek, 5233 Berkshire Drive <br />Ms. Seeley introduced the item and stated there was also a 4ft x 16ft porch to be added as well <br />and the variance was actually 70sgft. Mr. Marek explained there was a misunderstanding <br />regarding whether or not the porch would be included in the variance. Mr. Mackey asked if the <br />applicant had a small shed on the property and was he looking for extra storage space. Mr. <br />Marek stated the small shed had already been removed and he was in need of some extra space. <br />Mr. Rahm moved; seconded by Mr. Kovach; to approve 23-23932; Norman Marek -5233 <br />Berkshire Drive. <br />Mr. Papotto explained the difference in the sqft. of variance. Board Members discussed briefly. <br />Motion Passed: 5-0 <br />23-24059; Larry Yelko-5582 Burns Road <br />Proposal of 10'x16'xI 1' shed and a space of 3' off of back corner of property line. Property is <br />zoned B -One Family Residence. <br />The following variance is requested: <br />
