PLANNING&DESIGN COMMISSION
CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED
MEETING MINUTES OF MARCH 26,2025
ROLL CALL
Mr.David called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
Present: Tom David, Jose Leon,Humberto Olivos, Cary Peeples
Absent: Brenton Mineo
Staff:Director Max Upton,Director Tim Pinchek, City Engineer Jeff Filarski,Director of Law
Bryan O'Malley Administrative Assistant Lyn Wilson
MEETING MINUTES
The meeting minutes of March 12, 2025,were submitted for approval; all in favor none opposed.
NEW BUSINESS
Barton Bradley Soccer Park Parking Lot(PPN 234-06-006)
Residents: Terry Szabo,Bradley Dr.; Larry Mohar,Barton Rd.; Don Pattison, Colette
Diddle,Barton Rd.
The Commission reviewed proposed improvements to the Barton Bradley Soccer Park parking
lot, including paving, stormwater retention infrastructure, and enhanced safety measures such as
crosswalks and a drop-off lane. The area had long been used as a gravel lot,and the project
aimed to formalize and improve it.Public comments raised concerns about traffic flow, lack of
communication, light pollution, drainage, and loss of tree buffers.
Mr.David made a motion to recommend the City Council approve the Barton Bradley Soccer
Park Parking Lot(PPN 234-06-006)with the following conditions:
1. The updated plan shows a future sidewalk from the southern handicap asphalt parking to
the asphalt drive, a connector.
2. And from the far western handicap parking spots, a concrete connector sidewalk to the
center crosswalk there just to keep them out of that lane of traffic.
3. And that a pine tree screening is added starting at the center of the eastern detention basin
along that northern edge of the parking lot to hook up with the other deciduous trees and
pine.
Seconded by Mr. Olivos.
Motion passed: 4-0
1
