Branding the NOAC was discussed. Chair Boulton passed out samples of both
potential logos and letterhead. Once a final logo is decided upon by the group (he will
put together all samples from Commission members into a packet so they can be
viewed and selected at the April 2024 meeting). Once that logo is finalized, he will
create business cards for all Commission members to increase the group's identity,
enhance community engagement, and allow members to better promote the work of the
NOAC.
Mr. O'Malley indicated that he has not yet made any progress contacting the City of
Parma regarding some of their community murals. He said he also intends to contact
the City of Cleveland, which is in the midst of a rather large mural project. Ultimately the
group would like to have a mural commissioned for the Recreation Center.
Becky Tesar and Susan Begin discussed community engagement and creating some
type of community art project at the upcoming 2024 Homecoming event. A community
quilt was one possibility discussed. Sue said that whatever is decided upon needs to be
affordable, portable and distributable.
Keith Behrendt pointed out that the North Olmsted Community Council has not yet
made any decisions regarding the Big White Tent for the homecoming event, normally
where the NOAC is headquartered.
The North Olmsted Garden Club issued an invitation to the North Olmsted Arts Council
to partner with them on some type of art show to be held at the Community Cabin. The
group continues to discuss what that might entail.
With no other business, the meeting was adjourned at 7:36 p.m.
The next meeting of the North Olmsted Arts Commission will take place at 6:30 p.m.
Tuesday, April 16 at Old Town Hall.
