`' — CITY of NORTH OLMSTEDMayor Nicole Dailey Jones <br /> Lit <br /> t <br /> NORTH <br /> OLMSTED <br /> -ESL 1815 <br /> - A 5200 Dover Center Road I North Olmsted,Ohio 44070 P 440-716-4140 <br /> North Olmsted Arts Commission <br /> Meeting Minutes—Tuesday, November 21,2023 <br /> Present: Keith Behrendt, Susan Begin, Nahid Parsipour, Frank Boulton, Bryan O'Malley; <br /> Mark Mallett, Lori Kershner, Rick Haase. <br /> Absent: Tahani Mousa, Becky Tesar, Ken Srail. <br /> The meeting was called to order by Keith Behrendt at 6:30 p.m. <br /> The minutes from the Tuesday, October 17, 2023 meeting were approved. <br /> Prospective member Jacob Campbell will be interviewed by City Council in January—due to <br /> schedule conflicts with his work and concert schedule in December. He will then be sworn-in <br /> by Mayor Nicole Dailey Jones, once approved by City Council. <br /> Frank Boulton gave a brief presentation on branding of the North Olmsted Arts Commission. <br /> Elements of the branding will be discussed and developed in the near future, including a new <br /> logo, mission statement and tagline, along with a simple description (elevator speech)which <br /> describes the NOAC. <br /> Both Keith Behrendt and Bryan O'Malley announced their intentions to step down from their <br /> roles (Keith as Chairman) Bryan as a Commission Member at the end of 2023. Bryan will <br /> continue to serve as the NOAC legal advisor(in his role as Assistant Law Director); Keith will <br /> step down as Chairman, transitioning to immediate past president, but will also continue as a <br /> Commission member. <br /> Feedback was discussed regarding the August Art Exhibition and Sale. It was agreed that <br /> while the art show was a success, its presence in the"Big Tent" as a part of the Homecoming <br /> weekend events, is not the best venue for an exhibition. Other venues were discussed, <br /> including Frostville, the North Olmsted Library. The Commission agreed that a full-scale <br /> show will be planned for 2025. <br /> A brief discussion was held about the Commission's budget, and specifically what dollar <br /> amount is available to the Commission. A copy of the budget will be provided to all <br /> Commission members at the December 2023 meeting. <br />
