CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES - JANUARY 27, 1987 I. ROLL CALL: Chairman Burns called the meeting to order at 8:35 p.m. Present: R. Bierman, B. Gorris, E. Traczyk, and J. Burns Absent: T. Morgan and J. Wixted Also Present: Assistant Law Director J. Dubelko, City Engineer J. Sclialler, Building Commissioner S. Spino, CounciTmen R. Tallon, W. Lackey, and R. Wilamosky, and Clerk of Commissions B. Oring. II. REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES: E. Traezyk moved to approve the minutes of January 13, 1987 as presented, seconded by R. Bierman, and unanimously approved. :III. BUILDING DEPARTMENT REOUESTS: 1) S'uburban Glass and'Tire, Inc., 23672 Lorain Road ' Proposa-1 to, refurbis?i exterior of building. (Heard,by the Architeetural Board, of Review January 21, 1987.) Mr. P'urper-,. Gorris moved. to approve the Suburba.n Glass and Tire: proposaT. to refurbish the exterior of the , building at- 23572 Lorain. Road, incorporating; the recommendations of ' tfie- Archmteatulral Board of Review, seeond'ed by E. Traczyk; and' unanimous,ly' approved. 2) Jerry Galbreatli Offiee Building, 29168.Lorain Road Proposal to conver-t former racquetball club to office building. (Heard by the Architectural Board of Review on January 21, 1987.) Mr. Del Giudice, architect, presented plans explaining that they will incorporate the recommendations of the Architectural Board: two handicapped spaces are shown on the site plan, false window.will be . removed, and fire shutters will be installed on windows which are only 5' from property line. They plan to remove the existing ground sign and the only sign on the building will be the address. Variance for parking had been granted previously in order.to keep the green area in front of the building. Mr. Del Giudice explained to Councilman Tallon that retention had been installed when building was originally built, some trees would have to be removed in order to install park- ing on east side of property, landscaping in the front will be upgraded, that the mound for retention and landscaping (not shown on these plans, but on the original one) would not be removed. He also agreed to replace the trees (apnroximately 9) which are to be removed. R. Bierman moved to approve the proposal to convert the former racq_uet- ball club to an office building taking into consideration the
