<br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />MINUTES - JANUARY 27, 1987 <br />I. ROLL CALL: <br />Chairman Burns called the meeting to order at 8:35 p.m. <br />Present: R. Bierman, B. Gorris, E. Traczyk, and J. Burns <br />Absent: T. Morgan and J. Wixted <br />Also Present: Assistant Law Director J. Dubelko, City Engineer J. Sclialler, <br />Building Commissioner S. Spino, CounciTmen R. Tallon, <br />W. Lackey, and R. Wilamosky, and Clerk of Commissions <br />B. Oring. <br />II. REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES: <br />E. Traezyk moved to approve the minutes of January 13, 1987 as presented, <br />seconded by R. Bierman, and unanimously approved. <br />:III. BUILDING DEPARTMENT REOUESTS: <br />1) S'uburban Glass and'Tire, Inc., 23672 Lorain Road ' <br />Proposa-1 to, refurbis?i exterior of building. <br />(Heard,by the Architeetural Board, of Review January 21, 1987.) <br />Mr. P'urper-,. Jr.:;advised. tfi-a.t he had no objection to the Architectural <br />B'oard's stipulation and if' lie cannot cleari the brick satisfactorily <br />' he, will paint ; all. the lirick fieige.: B. Gorris moved. to approve the <br />Suburba.n Glass and Tire: proposaT. to refurbish the exterior of the <br />, building at- 23572 Lorain. Road, incorporating; the recommendations of <br />' tfie- Archmteatulral Board of Review, seeond'ed by E. Traczyk; and' <br />unanimous,ly' approved. <br />2) Jerry Galbreatli Offiee Building, 29168.Lorain Road <br />Proposal to conver-t former racquetball club to office building. <br />(Heard by the Architectural Board of Review on January 21, 1987.) <br />Mr. Del Giudice, architect, presented plans explaining that they will <br />incorporate the recommendations of the Architectural Board: two <br />handicapped spaces are shown on the site plan, false window.will be . <br />removed, and fire shutters will be installed on windows which are <br />only 5' from property line. They plan to remove the existing ground <br />sign and the only sign on the building will be the address. Variance <br />for parking had been granted previously in order.to keep the green <br />area in front of the building. Mr. Del Giudice explained to Councilman <br />Tallon that retention had been installed when building was originally <br />built, some trees would have to be removed in order to install park- <br />ing on east side of property, landscaping in the front will be upgraded, <br />that the mound for retention and landscaping (not shown on these plans, <br />but on the original one) would not be removed. He also agreed to <br />replace the trees (apnroximately 9) which are to be removed.
