CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />• ARCHITECTURAL BOARD OF REVIEW <br />MTNUTES - JUNE 17, 1987 <br />I. ROLL CALL: <br />Acting Chairman Pattison called the meeting to order at 5:10 p.m. <br />Present: J. Britton, B. Zer.gott, and D. Pattison <br />Mrs. Case arrived,at 5:15 p.m. <br />Also Present: B. Oring, Clerk of Commissions <br />II. REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES: <br />J. Britton moved to accept the minutes of May 20, 198% as presented, <br />seconded by B. Zergott, and unanimously approved, <br />III. SIGNS: <br />1) Chi-Chi's Restaurant, 25411 Great Northern Shopping Center <br />Canopy sign approved with"building plans. <br />IV. OLD BUSINESS: <br />i) Chi-Chi's Restaurant, 25411 Great Northern Shopping Center <br />Proposal to alter canopy on existing res.taurant. (Heard by Planning <br />Commission April 14, 1987) (Withclrawn from Architectural Board of <br />Review Apri1 22; 1987). <br />Mr. Thomas, representing Chi-Chi`s, presented plans for the canopy ex- <br />plaining that the cream colored band will be reduced in width from what <br />is shown on the plans. The outer perimeter of the existin.g trellis over <br />the entrance wi11 be wrapped with a red prismax vinyl material which is <br />somewhat translucent, down lighting will be installed, and signage wi`11 <br />be applied ta the ftont of tlie canopy. A three color band (yellow, green, <br />and red) wi11 be added to ?he building. Planning Commission had objected <br />to the bright red color. Mrs. Case stated that the standard Mexican <br />colors are yellow, green; and red. Mr. Pattison advised that the color <br />selecti.on on this material is very limited and he does not believe the <br />color to be outlandish, and considers it somewhat festive. D. Pattison <br />moved to approve as submitted, seconded by J. Britton, and unanimously <br />approved. <br />V. Fv'EW BUSINESS: <br />1) McDonald's Restaurant, 27322 Lorain Road <br />Proposal to construct sma11 additions, exterior renovations, and <br />revisions t.o site plan including parking, landscaping, and signage. <br />(Iieard by Planning Commission May 26, 1987). <br />Mr. Begany, of McDonald's) explained that the exterior remodeling will <br />consist of new b rick work (light and dark tan); b lended brown roof <br />shingles; adding a vestibule onto the side of the building; expanding the <br />drive through booth; extending the drive through driveway; relocating the
