. ' <br />? <br />-a <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />BOARD OF BUILDING CODE APPEALS <br />MINUTES - SEPTEMBER 24, 1987 <br />I. ROLL CALL: <br />Chairman Kazak called the meeting to order at 7:35 p.m. <br />Present: J. Kazak, B. Schulz, and D. Spoerke <br />Mr. Burk arrived at 7:40 p.m. <br />Absent: R. Galloway <br />Also Present: Building Commissioner Conway and Clerk of Commissions Oring <br />II. REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES: <br />Mr. Schulz moved to approve the minutes of August 27, 1987 as submitted, <br />seconded by D. Spoerke, and unanimously approved. <br />III. COMM[JNICATIONS: <br />No items. <br />IV. HEARINGS: <br />1) Mrs. F. Blendenhofer, 28480 North Park Dr. <br />Request variance from Section R-206 of the CABO One and Two Family <br />Dwelling Code, height of ceiling to be less than the 7 feet required. <br />A 5 inch variance is requested. <br />Chairman Kazak administered the oath to Mr. Blendenhofer, the son of the <br />applicant, Mr. Block, the contractor, and neighbors, B. and S. Malchus. <br />Mr. Blendenhofer explained that the bedrooms are on the second floor <br />and the bathroom is on the first, and since his mother is elderly she <br />needs the lavatory and closet on the second floor. Mr. Block explained <br />that the existing ceilings are 6 foot 7 inches and it would be difficult <br />to make the dormer higher and would incur additional expense. Neighbors <br />have no ob.jection. B. Schulz moved to accept the variance for the <br />ceiling height, seconded by R. Burk, and unanimouslv annroved. <br />V. OLD BUSINESS: <br />Regarding the Minotti property .f_or which the Board approved a stay of demoli- <br />tion, Mr. Burk stated that the pronerty is not being maintained, the weeds <br />are growing and there is litter on the property. Mr. Conway advised that <br />the work has been completed as required, however, he can onlv cite the owner <br />if the weeds are over 12 inches. The litter is nrobably from the bar next <br />door since Mr. Minotti has allowed the bar customers to park on his proAertv. <br />Mr. Conwav will advise Mr. Minotti that he must maintain the orooerty. <br />Regarding the Ordinance regulating 'di.sh-tyne satellite signal receiving <br />earth stations, the Board met with the legislative committee and the <br />items which had been deleted have been re-instated. Some of the wording <br />was changed in order to make the ordinance stronger.
