<br />Chairman Remmel called the meeting to order at 7:35 p.m.
<br />Present: R. Bugala, R. Gomersall, B. Grace, and C. Remmel
<br />Absent: J. Helon
<br />Also Present: Law Director M. Gareau, Building Commissioner D. Conway, and
<br />Clerk of Commissions B. Oring.
<br />B. Grace moved to approve the minutes of September 2, 1987 as presented,
<br />seconded by-R. Gomersall; and unanimously approved..
<br />1. Alexander T. Muzie,.29780 Broxbourne Rd. .
<br />Request for variance (.1123.,12). Request 2,645 sq. ft. variance for shed,
<br />4 f.t.-height variance-and location yariance .for shed. Violation of Ord. .
<br />87-93, Section 1135.02 (d)-1. (Location.of shed changed, from re.quest which
<br />was denied on October l, 1986). . .
<br />Chairman Remmel called all interested parties before the Board. The.oath
<br />was administered to Mr. Aiuzie, and neighbors, Mr. Traczyk and Mrs.. Risko.
<br />Mr. Muzie explained that the proposed location is.now behind his.house, not
<br />on the "L" shaped part of his.propert_y where he had requested it previously.
<br />Neighbors stated that the location is better, but they..still believe that
<br />the barn is too large. Mr. Muzie stated that he has too much equipment .
<br />including 3 boats with trailers, a camper, a truck, etc. to get into a 2
<br />car garage. Board agreed that the barn is much too large and too high, and
<br />that the pine trees'he plans to plant around it will.not.conceal it. .
<br />Chairman Remmel stated that agriculture is not a permitted use in a Resi-
<br />dential District. Mr. Muzie stated that he does not farm his property and
<br />has no animals. R. Bugala moved to grant the 2,645 square foot variance,
<br />a 4 foot height'variance, and location variance for a shed for. Alexander
<br />T. Muzie of 29780:Broxbourne Road;.seconded by. C. Remmel. Roll call on
<br />motion: Bugala, Remmel, Gomersall, and Grace, no. Motion failed to vass.
<br />Variance denied.
<br />2. J. P. Curley, 27821 North Park Dr.
<br />Request for variance (1123.12). Request 44 square foot variance and location
<br />variance for tool shed. Violation of Ord. 87-93, Section.1135.02 (d)-1.
<br />Chairman Remmel called all interested parties before the Board. The oath was
<br />administered to Mr. Curley who explained that he would be replacing the ex-
<br />isting shed. The Board had no problem with the proposed location. C. Remmel
<br />moved to grant a location variance.for the tool shed to be constructed where
<br />the present one is, seconded by R. Bugala, and unanimously approved. •Variance
<br />granted. Chairman Remmel advised that the Board has not been granting
<br />variance fo.r size of sheds; exce.pt.in extreme cases. Mr. Curley stated that
<br />his lot is over 300 feet deep and 100 feet wide, and he has a tractor which
<br />he cannot fit into a garage. Mr. Grace stated that, considering the size of
<br />the lot, this is a reasonable request. R. Gomersall moved to grant the request
<br />for Mr. J..P. Curley for a 44 square foot variance for his tool shed at 27821
<br />North Park Dr.., seconded by B. Grace. Roll call on motion: Gomersall, Bugala,
<br />and Remmel, no. Mr. Grace, yes: Motion failed to pass. Variance denied.
